One of
the nicest people this world has to offer is Tammy Faye Messner. I began
watching her years ago on the PTL network. Back then, she was Jim Bakker's
wife and was known for crying and having her mascara run. My dad and I
used to watch their show just to see it happen. He also liked to hear her sing, because he
thought she sounded like a sheep and it made him laugh. I was like 15 or so, but I remember thinking, when they
built Heritage USA, that it was to buy real estate and make money off of it. I think Jim Bakker began with good intentions, but there was just such a large amount of money that came in, that I think it was overwhelming. Eventually, too many memberships were sold and and they were unable to provide some members with accomodations when they attempted. Things really went bad when Jerry Falwell became involved. In 2000, Tammy made a movie about it called "The eyes of Tammy Faye" that addressed and explained the whole story of the rise and fall of Heritage USA. The previous movie (1990) was a made for tv movie called "Fall From Grace", about the life of Jim and Tammy Bakker. It portrayed Tammy as knowing nothing about her husband's dealings. I
believe that to be the case.
Tammy has always struck me as genuine and sappily
sweet. She divorced Jim Bakker in 1992, while he was in Prison for fraud, which was very difficult for her. She went on to marry Roe Messner, an acquaintence she knew through Heritage USA. I recall being so happy she had found someone to love who truly loved her. Later, I watched her on The JM J. and Tammy Faye Show. I loved
that show and it was so popular. But, she got cancer and had to stop.
It was sad. Not too long ago, I saw her on The Surreal Life, where she had
to share a house for two weeks with other stars, including Ron Jeremy the porn
star. I didn't think she would make it. At one point, they went to a nudist camp and she got upset. I
felt very bad for her. She was such a trooper and ended up counseling Ron
later.
Well, Tammy has battled cancer for a number of years and now she is sick
again. In 2005, she appeared in an infomercial for controversial medicinal advice author Kevin Trudeau that she later admitted that she regretted, and she began Chemo again. Now, doctors are unable to continue Chemo because it just isn't working.
She weighs 60-some pounds. Her son Jamie (Jay), Minister of The Revolution Church and star of the 6-part documentary "One Punk Under God", posted this response to the many fans who have posted on the sundance channel website "Thank you so much! It is hard to watch your HERO, BUDDY and MOM go through such hell. She's the best." Please Pray for her, her husband Roe, her two kids Jamie and Tammy Sue and her two grandchilden James and Johnathon. You can sign her guestbook at tammyfaye.com.

Video Clip from the movie "The Eyes of Tammy Faye"
What you never saw her infomercial with kevin trudeau? Hell why didn't he cure her of cancer with all those "natural cures" he claims to know about. My guess is that those quack doctors you refer to have kept her alive and she would be long dead without them.
It is sad when anyone dies from anything other than old age.
yes, i agree, but I found this on wikipedia: In 2005, she appeared in an infomercial for controversial medicinal advice author Kevin Trudeau, an appearance she later admitted that she regretted. thanks for bringing that point up. and, while i am not a proponent of quackwatch, sometimes they do have some good info: The ad gives the false impression that Tammy Faye opposes chemotherapy in favor of the ‘natural cures’ in Trudeau’s book. A representative for Tammy Faye said that is not true....
of course there are other sources about Trudeau that tell the real story about him:
What Kevin Trudeau doesn't want you to know
The author of the bestselling "Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You to Know About" claims to be a consumer advocate in the Ralph Nader mold. But the infomercial king just wants your cash.
I added this info about Trudeau to the Tribute blog and I also added info about her Son, Jamie (Jay). There are some good videos of him and of Tammy (scroll down a ways). I encourage everyone to watch the video I list as: Tribute To Tammy Faye, "God's Not Dead" By Bobbi Blush. It is so uplifting and I know Tammy's sense of humor and it would make her laugh a lot!
I didn't know she was on with Trudeau. HE is a quack amongst them all. BTW, I agree with you that it's sad when people die of anything other than old age.
i agree and i sent her info on a cancer treatment which is all natural. we have amazing cancer drs here in tijuana. getting cancer treatments in the US is generally not a good idea, especially if it involves chemo and radiation. i sent her an email, but the mailbox is full. besides her guestbook on her website (which probably doesn't allow any cancer treatment help messages), here are 2 other addresses that may work to get a message to her: Webmaster@tammyfaye.com joe@tammyfaye.com
