  • For those of you with weight problems, I have a plan for you.   by  athina     17 y     3,505       2 Messages Shown       Blog: * in pursuit of perfection *
Let's start with those who want to gain weight. Yes, this is a problem for some people (all snickering and snide comments aside) - especially men who are rail-thin.

    So here goes...

    ***

Go on a diet. That's right, go on a diet.

98% of all diets fail - or something close to that. Not only is the inital weight re-gained, but extra poundage is also added, due to a slower metabolism.

This is good news for people who want to gain weight, right?

You're what? 120 pounds and 5'10?? You eat all day and night and just can't pack on the pounds you want. Your metabolism is crazy fast, and you're looking for a remedy to this problem.

Well the solution is simple. Lower your metabolism. Eat less, or try a fast. Then eat like a pig afterwards. You will increase the blubber factor - there are millions of people, like myself, who are a testament to the effectiveness of this program.

So there you have it. Now flip the coin, and you'll see an ingenious plan I have for losing weight, so here goes...

    ***

Eat more. You heard correctly, eat MORE. This is the yang to the other plan's ying. What goes up, must come down - we're talking about balance here. We have to find a way to make this work somehow because it makes sense.

So, in eating more, I don't think that would mean eating everything in sight cause historically that's how we got fat in the first place. Also, if we're going to be eating more to lose weight, we have to increase our metabolism as well. Having said all that, it's well known that an increased metabolism is associated with a) increased muscle mass & b) exercise.

So increasing our muscle mass involves ingesting protein and lifting weights. That takes care of (a) and (b) and by eating often enough this can be accomplished quickly.

Therefore, the plan is as follows:

    a) Fast/Cleanse, lose the excess fat and lose the sugar cravings

    b) After 10 days weaning back onto solid food, eat lots of protein and do cardio/weight training.

I think the entire program would be enhanced doing the warrior plan - that way we keep the benefits of fasting and give our digestive system a break.
