Day 29 was another warm humid day in the NW. My hubby and I drove to the XXX Drive-In (last XXX Rootbeer drive-in left) in Issaquah to participate with our '68 Chevy C10 in a classic truck show. It is still a work in progress so we didn't expect to place or anything. All the same it is fun.
I'm very glad I was fasting because the onion rings (called Piston Rings on the menu) smelled soooooo good. They have the biggest, messiest burgers in the world too. That was less tempting but boy those onions were torturous.
I sat chatting with this nice gentleman next to us. He put tons of time restoring his old '55 truck after his wife passed away from cancer. It seemed like he put all the love he had for her into his work. His truck won but I'm not sure under what category, probably XXX Favorite (boy, imagine the raised eyebrows from a trophy with that title sitting in grandpa's living room).
In the evening we went to my sister-in-law's house for dinner. Every other Sunday we have dinner with my hubby's mom, dad (they are divorced), brother, sister and her family. We take turns hosting.
Yesterday we celebrated my father-in-law's 60th birthday. We watched my neice (she's three) splash in the pool and entertain us. She's such a cute little ham.
For dinner they had two flavors of smoked ribs (one w/ red wine, one hot mustard bbg), fresh corn on the cob, potato salad, baked beans and steamy corn bread. Only a couple of days until I can eat corn bread if I want some.
Okay, enough drooling already. ggg. On a side note, even though my hubby can barely see any weight loss but my sister-in-law said I look really good. It was nice to hear since I've lost 18 lbs so far.
Well only one more day to go until OJ day. I'm bringing in enough oranges to make juice for the whole office. I'll let you know how it goes.
Happy Monday,
Peanut

Way to resist those Onion Rings! The smell of grease is one that my brain also sees as a trigger and so I can identify with how you had to work at it to just say NO!
Two more days! that is so great. I am sure you have to be really feeling empowered as you come down the final leg of your journey and the finish is close at hand.
Have you fetched your oranges already??
Wow will some OJ taste good. I am happy for you that you have done so well too. The weight loss is nice but your big payoff is the empowerment and the improvement in your digestion and elimination.
I wish you the best~~~!
blessings,
Zoe

Today is actually day 30 (I just haven't posted about it yet). I'm getting my oranges on the way home since I drive next to a produce stand. Feeling very excited and proud. Last week I wasn't sure if I would make it.
I'm not going to fast again for a while but I will keep posting at least through a series of liver flushes, parasite cleanse, and maybe a candida diet. For now I'm just celebrating and looking forward to my weekend away. We will certainly drink wine with dinner but I'll work hard at not undoing all my hard work. I've learned from your 4th of July to drink extra water ahead of time, just in case.
Thank you, Zoe, for letting us learn from your experiences and thanks for always helping me stay on track. You are an incredible inspiration and knowledgable resource too.
God bless,
Peanut
