Blog: My 30 Juice Fasting Journey
| Yesterday was my final day of the juice cleanse. I hadn't had any bad symptoms for quite sometime until yesterday. For some reason in the late afternoon my stomach started hurting really bad. My whole abdomen felt like it was on fire. This lasted all through the night and finally went away this morning. I don't know what happened. I had nothing out of the ordinary at all. Water and orange juice was all I had before it happened which is something I have had everyday on the cleanse. All I know was that I was hurting so bad I was thinking in the middle of the night that I might have to get my husband to take me to the hospital if it was not gone by morning. Thank god it went away - I did Reiki for almost an hour and prayed for it to go! So, I am done with the fast. I can't believe I did it and I am so happy I did. I have lost a total of 21 pounds in only 30 days (and I am bloated from my period today so it could very well be a little more). It was very difficult at times with my added obstacles of health problems but overall it was easier than one would think. I brought some watermelon with me to work today to break my fast and depending on how I feel by lunch, I will get another piece of fruit or if my stomach is not feeling right I will just get a carrot juice. After yesterday, I am afraid of what my stomach will do today, so I am going to be very cautious.

| Hello, my name is Penni and I wanted to comment on your blog. I am totally impressed with your tenacity and your results during your 30 day fast. I am totally motivated and encouraged by all that you have shared. I started a 40 day juice fast yesterday. My goal is to detox, as well as lose an unwanted 30 pounds. I totally related to you when you said that your willpower has been nearly non-existant in the past. I have sort of had to psych myself up for this and I have been eating a raw food diet for the past 2 weeks to get my body moving in a more positive direction. I have only lost 4 lbs. this way. I am also walking 1 hour each morning, which is just under 4 miles.
Do you have any advise or words of wisdom as I move forward on this fast?

Hi Penni,
It makes me so happy to hear that I have helped motivate you! I went through many ups and downs and even some hours toward the end that I wanted to stop - even though I knew I wouldn't give up. My advice is to tough it out because the good days out weigh the bad days. Also, there is nothing like the feeling of making it to your last day! It is so wonderful and then you feel so much better and look great too! Please feel free to email me anytime along the way. I would be more than happy to be there for you if you have any questions.
