Blog: My Journey to Health (With Fasting and Raw Food)
But, I'm not giving in...
Today was such a rough day. Extreme pain levels, from my hips to my toes. Something is being stirred up that is causing inflammation around my pinched nerves in my lower back, and I cannot even walk around the house (or sit down) without pain. I spent most of the day either leaning on my side on the couch, or walking around trying to move and not get stiff. This is usually when I stop fasting, but I am committed to pushing through. It's WAY too early to think about quitting...and I have invested enough in this fast so that I don't want to start over! That said, I'm holding on by the skin of my teeth, because I really want to eat and end the pain. Even eat and take pain meds. I am really battling with myself to hold on for another day or two, when this detox crisis is over!
I didn't feel up to juicing anything. I drank my tea and some leftover juices (apple and a carrot/green juice). Then tonight I had some pasteurized juice because it was that or eat. No way I could have run the juicer. I think I'll do the MC tomorrow for ease, as we have to drive to Sacramento for the annual check-ups for the kids. It will be easy to take the lemonade with me, and very easy to make early in the morning.
That's all I can post tonight. I can't sit at the computer any longer...

Try cayenne, it's great for inflammation and pain. I use it on fasts instead of pain relievers. Actually I use it even when not on fasts, it's a staple in my home.
Here's an excellent article (part I and II) on cayenne and it's healing benefits: http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=573&i=89
I drink it in OJ or in hot lemon tea. Sometimes I just throw half a teaspoon in a mug, then add a couple swallows of warm or tepid water and throw it back like a shot of tequila and chase it with more warmish water. When I do it that way, it's for some serious pain, headache or otherwise. If there is no relief within a half hour, then I do it again. Usually it works right away.
Enemas are also excellent when pain or severe detox occurs. They, much of the time, bring instant relief. Sometimes lower back pain is a result of impacted fecal matter. Give it a try.
I hope you feel better. You've come a long way. I hope you make it to the finish line.
Best to you,
