Blog: Wedding Diet
Boy did I have my britches in a bunch last week. It was a rough time. Luckily, the fiance and I had one of the greatest weekends of all time.
Friday, got home, and ran four miles. I made it through the whole thing chanting, "I can do well for myself today." I didn't stop, I didn't drop to a walk on any parts of the hills. On the way back I even said to myself, I'm going to smile and enjoy this. AND I DID!!!!!!! I got home and felt like a new person.
Really, I think, being able to run four miles without stopping is a huge achievement. Doing it with a smile is something I never thought I'd do. So I enjoyed my weekend immensely.
We tried the bbq from the place we're having cater the wedding (show-stoppingly good). I drank beer and wine, had pie for dinner on Sunday. The fiance and I actually ran out to the lake and jumped in last night at 9 PM. It was awesome.
I did not freak out about food once. And my goal is to run 2-3 times a week, 4 miles each time. If I can do that, I can eat whatever I want. I'm still going to trend raw during the week, but I'm going to focus on exercise, not on diet for these last two months. Whatever I do, if I can run 12 miles a week, nothing's going to make me look bad.
Supplementing with light lifting, and hopefully some swimming soon!

Reading your progress definitely puts things into perspective for me and my diet before the wedding. Your stories are very inspiring! I have tried fasting, master cleanser stc as well.... but overall it seems, and your stories confirm, that having a healthy diet in general and lots of exercise is the way to go.

You will drive yourself crazy if you do anything else. There's so much stress that leads up to the wedding. I've found that lots of things I didn't think I cared about actually really matter to me prepping for the wedding. But it's a long journey, so if you don't approach with moderation, you end up wearing yourself out with fasting, and all that stuff.
Exercise makes you feel good and look tight and toned. It's the best. It's the thing to come back to when you get frustrated and feel lost.
At least for me ! :)
