I'm feeling spectacular today. Last night I biked 3 miles, walked a mile at a good clip on the treadmill, and did 35 minutes of weights and calisthenics. Got home, made my green juice:
1.5 cukes
white cabbage
2 kale leaves
lots of cilantro
an unpeeled lemon
a huge knob of ginger
a few carrots
You may be thinking HOLY CRAP and you'd be very, very right. Talk about a power packed juice! I added a little tabasco sauce (I'm not a purist, and I need my hot sauce) and sat down to watch some west wing.
Awesome.
I prepped a pineapple for juicing this AM, with some peeled oranges. I'm not too sure about leaving the peels on - it seems to me like it would negatively affect my juicer. It did not seem overly bitter at ALL, but that might have been the ginger and the cilantro, two of my absolute faves.
So they're ordering lunch from the yummy pizza/pasta place today, and I'm sad I can't eat a salad, like I usually do. But I think ahead to the delicious sushi buffet that awaits me at the end of the fast and I smile. http://www.minado.com for any of you foodies out there - it's the cleanest yummiest you could imagine, and it's all mine not this weekend, but next.
So the cool thing - fasting with weight lifting - IT'S HUGE!!! I felt totally fine energy wise yesterday and today. I think the exercise puts me to sleep really fast. I also listened to my weight loss CD of affirmations, and have to get back to visualizing myself in my smaller body. But this morning, I really felt toned and tight. Imagine that - one freakin' day without food and I can REALLLY feel the goodness.
I'm totally in this for weight loss, not really for the cleansing - I've ordered some oxy powder to start in a few days (when it gets here). My problem is not keeping things moving when I'm fasting, oddly enough, it's keeping things moving when I eat starch and cheese. It's amazing how even a tiny bit trips up my digestion, so I'm looking for new tools. Hoping to try Oxy cleanse on the fast, but really hoping to have found something that works when I'm eating.
I'll be lurking around the forums for sure when this whole place starts smelling like pizza. But I'll be OK. This second time fasting is TOTALLY different than the first time - I'm not scared! Also, a 10 day fast is not daunting to me AT ALL. It's just through the middle of next week.
If you're new to fasting, START SMALL AND GO BIG!!!! Asking myself to do 30 days before was a huge mistake, and I was really nervous and anxious, because I thought if I didn't do 30 days and drop a bunch of weight, I'd never get started.
Well with a few months of eating right and heavy exercise, I'm certainly toning up and the 10 day fast is not a huge deal, not a huge chunk out of my life, not a biggie! (it's only day 2...) I'm thinking the 10 day fast might happen once a month from now till the wedding
end of april
mid may
early june
we'll see how it goes, but that might just be the key to dropping chunks of weight but not getting too worn down...
Just some thoughts!

Start small (even 3 - 5 days), then go bigger!
Jumping in too deep just sets people up for failure..you've only got to look at many of the started and stalled curezone fasting blogs to see what happens.
You're doing so GREAT!!!
