Blog: Experiments with electricity as a healing tool
It was an epic battle with both sides bent on destruction. At times the tiny numerous (as I like to call them) seemed that they would gain the upper hand and I would be relegated to manufacturer of their chariots of snot. But I have pulled through and survived to tell the tale with maybe a bit learned and some more perameters to test. Wednesday mid day being the start till now on Monday symptoms have remained mild and treatment seemed to have noticeable easing of them at times. As always when I face a symtom that does not go away immediately I being to alter the set up to see if I can get better results. Usually I feel when something is working it's effects a pretty fast. In this case I altered the frequency pattern and after a bit of that I decided to investigate duty cycle of the pulse. Basically the time the pulse is on verses the time it is not on. After reading some interesting tutorials I saw a limitation that I had noticed before but never thought much about. The 555 timing chip under a common design that I was using does not allow the off time to be greater than on time. However by using a transistor to signal the power MOSFET to turn off the primary 555 signal I had inverted it's on off time ratio for the lower pulses. Anytime they were on it turned the primary signal off. So having read of an easy way to modify the circuit i added a diode and was testing away. The effect that it had on the output was pretty dramatic as the ignition coil was now on less time it consumed less power. The spark coming off the handhold that happens when the connection is not solid or if it is held a small distance from the skin was almost none observable for some frequencies used. Actually touching it though the sensation seemed more stinging and less like a pulse as it had previously felt. I would say that I do feel that it's effectiveness improved upon that variation. We'll see how the next bugger likes the change. Another note: this cold progressed in a way that none before that I remember have. Sometimes when I have been sick in the past I would get frustrated and want to work out to "power through it". That has never really worked out though and usually I would just exhuause myself and feel worse. This time though I noticed that doing vigorous activity almost made symptoms fade completely. It definitely gave me a sense of the body energy in a way I don't feel I have experienced before.
