"... Recognizing the potential importance that microbes play in health, the National Institutes of Health in 2007 launched the Human Microbiome Project, a five-year, $140 million effort to study all the micro-organisms that reside in or on the human body as well as their DNA.

If these anticipated findings become publicly known to all of us so that we become fully informed on the "gut truth" of our vital microbial foundation it could possibly transform the old medical paradigm that intentionally capitalized on micro-phobia! What are the chances that this kind of information will be publicly known? (I'm certainly not placing any bets!) How about having a grass roots movement for full public disclosure on the findings of "the Human Microbiome Project"? How about if 1 or 2% of the "$140 million" goes to educational outreach? Maybe we can have Candace Pert (who wrote the highly informative yet reader-friendly "Molecules of Emotions") periodically interviewed as to what these findings mean in terms of our anti-microbial & fast-food lifestyles.
If you heed the caution re: antibiotics then you may also want to reconsider the use of birth control pills, as well as all the over-the-counter anti-inflammatories, (NSAIDS) like Advil that have the same effect.
