Re: ala without dmsa
Well, that does not sound good but there have been people who have chelated wtih ALA alone and chelated the mercury and healed. In fact, Andy says the DMSA is not essential, but ALA IS.
So not sure what to think here. I know that ALA chelates organs/brain and DMSA chelates mainly the blood/tissue mercury. DMSA is the best starter becuase it clears the blood and tissue so that when you later add the ALA you will have lessened the risk of ALA moving that mercury across the blood brain barrier due to clearing it out with DMSA (or waiting it out till the body does it by itself).
Andy admits that it is often better to use ALA with DMSA as it can help side effects, speed up and increase chelation, plus perhaps it makes the movements and removal of mercury more stable, but it is not absolutely necessary.
I think DMSA is the one to use when a person has had a recent exposure to clear out that mercury and ALA is the one to wait till later for when you're ready to start chelating your organs/brain.
Some people simply do not tolerate DMSA and seem to have success using ALA alone. There are people who have improved on DMSA alone and gotten better. I think those who have a heavy storage of organ/brain mercury may find they need the ALA if/when DMSA fails to improve them further.
