Re: Atlas Adjustment
Stephen,
You don't happen to know where the other Atlas adjusting tools are that your Dr. used? I have a 3 year ongoing TMJ and Atlas issue myself. I have tried every form of adjustment I have come across and non of them work on me. Do you know if this is a treatment that will have to be maintained with monthly visits or if a few visits are actually supposed to permanently resolve it? I'm in Florida, but if there isn't someone who can try this method on me that's closer, I would consider coming out to see your Doc as long as it is meant to be a cure. I obviously can't move there to go in once a month forever.
Anyway, I have been told by several Orthopedic specialists that the Atlas and TMJ effect each other so directly that it's odd to have an issue with one and not the other. My issue started out as a TMJ injury that caused a bad neck injury. After taking a bad blow to the jaw/temple, I had such bad vertigo that a week after this incident I fell down a hill and hit the back of my head and neck on a raised sidewalk. I injured 8 ligaments in my neck and fought with post concussion syndrome for almost a year. It was hard to tell when the concussion syndrome ended though, since that, the TMJ and neck injuries are somewhat overlapping. Once the symptoms were more movement related than constant, they determined the PCS symptoms had passed.
Thanks for your story and the results of your adjustment. I will try to look up your Doctor I think, if you don't mind, and see if he knows the other Doctors who know this method. I would sure like to try it.
