Re: I think it was TMJ and I have got imediate relief
Dear Bob,
I still have the tinnitus (it is not too bad), tried mangnesium for several weeks with no relief.
The mattress I bought from Brokestore (Temperpeudic) arrived and had a bad chemical smell that percisted for several weeks. I thought I also detected a hint of tabaco smell, maybe this was a 'recycled' mattress that a smoker tried out and then the treated it with something to cover up the smoke smell? A friend of mine also got the same mattress but it never had any odor. Strange. She very much likes her mattress, by the way.
The mattress is quite comfortable but not as much as I would have liked. I wake up in the morning and my shoulders hurt. It may also be the way I lie on my side - I put part of my arm under the pillow and that may be the problem. Initially I felt pressure and pain around the hip where the upper leg bone is. This is the part that is furthest from the body and digs in furthest into the mattress. Even though there are 3
inches of this formable foam (not quite the same as memory foam but very similar) I think that the hip sinks down until it compresses all that sort-of memory foam and then finally hits the regular foam pad that is below this 3
inch layer.
But the area of the upper leg bone seemed to have gotten better over the course of a few weeks since I received the mattress. It probably was somewhat inflamed due to my older mattress and had slowly recovered. I still feel a sore spot but it is much less severeand hopefully that will completely vanish over time.
Body weight is another issue. I am not too heavy, I weigh 180
pounds but my ideal weight would be about 15
pounds less (I am 5'11"). The more weight you have the more it will be an issue lying on your side, I think.
Regards,
Stephan
