Anal Itching…Pruritus Ani HELP!

Now that I finally know the scientific term for my itchy anus, Pruritus Ani, how do I treat it?! Thought I had an anal fissure/fistula and/or hemorrhoids for years, but recently a dermatologist (2nd one) told me I have pruritus ani. He prescribed me some kind of steroid cream that made it way worse, so now I need to find something else! I'm desperately searching the web, and Pranicure ointment keeps popping up…anyone used this and gotten successful results? There are lots of great reviews on the website, but I'm just trying to make sure I'm not getting duped. $40 + shipping sounds crazy for a 4 oz. jar (claiming it lasts 3-6 months), but I suppose it's cheaper than going to another doctor and paying for another useless prescription…
