If you can wash out your sinuses, and that works, that is great.
I would suggest that you wear a mask when cleaning up rodent droppings, or handleing dry compost, and it may never get any worse.

In collage 30 years ago the doctors used to prescribe salt water nose drops, and it never worked for me, but in 2001 the mice in the garage ate sunflower seeds and left droppings on my workbench, and about the same time we put 6 tons of compost on the front lawn, or it could have been when I was planting the flower beds, anyway three weeks later I was making mucus that you could stand an oar in, and it is definately not water soluible. I had added a much more effective goo maker to the team already there, and the little cusses started to gradually eat away a the floor of my right sinus and erode the bone.

So be glad if you can control it with saline solution now, but don't get cocky, hopefully you will keep the dirt out of your nose, as that's what the bacteria ride on, and never aquire the really bad bugs.
