The problem lies there, it crosses the blood-brain barrier very well and the risks of redistributing the mercury are high.

ALA by itself is half R-ALA, half S-ALA, and S-ALA is not a naturally occuring substance.

ALA causes the body to retain copper, and a lot of people are too high in copper.

It is only occuring in trace amount in food.

I would only use R-ALA, which is at least more than twice as potent as ALA.
