Which water filter is best?

Which water filter is best?

It seems there are so many possibilities these days I wonder which one to choose.
I am not a scientist but a thorough, analytical researcher.
I have researched and googled. Here are my results:

- Water Distiller
- Reverse osmosis
- Water Ionizer
- Water Di ionizer
- Ozone generator
- (UV) Ultraviolet light
- (GAC) Granular activated carbon
- UV filter
- Basic home Brita water

I have pointed out items which I have discovered but would be grateful for anyone elses development of these points. I don't really know much about de Ionized Water since I have researched Ionized Water a fair bit.

WATER DISTILLER
pro: 1) removes most contaminants from water.
con: 1) does not remove all VOCS
con: 2) ph low - acidic. not ideal for drinking
con: 3) £300 / $US 600 - slow 4hrs for 4 litres

?: Does the distiller leech minerals from the body? Evidence suggests this is the case. But is that because the person isn't drinking tap water and getting their usual dose from there? In which case could they get enough of the right minerals from adding a pinch of Sea Salt as the book "Your bodies many cries for water" suggests? But due to Hulda Clark s book " The Cure For All Diseases " everything has mold in it, including salt, so would it then be wise to kill potential mold in the salt by ozonating the water after that? But then after reading about ozonators I came across information about producing dangerous ozone gases being produced? In any case, the water may still be quite acidic, so to alkalise surely it would be better to add alkalising ingredients - calcium and magnesium. It seems like a slow process.

?: Volatile organic compounds (VOC)does distillation remove vocs? I found 2 articles that suggests distillation might not remove them.

REVERSE OSMOSIS
pro: 1) 2nd best for removing contaminants from water.
con: 1) not as good as distiller for removing potential bacteria or pathagens etc
con: 2) ph low - acidic. not ideal for drinking
con: 3) wastes 85 - 95% of water. so not economically friendly. Surely the more waste this produces, the less of the good water is circulating our cities and ending up in our tap water. ie the rich get healthier while the poor get sicker.

WATER IONIZER
pro: 1) 3rd best for removing contaminants from water
pro: 2) Also alkalises water providing more oxygen for the body for absorbing nutrients
pro: 3) does not waste water, since you can use the acidic water for other purposes
pro: 4) most practical and fastest method of creating water
con: 1) does not remove all toxins from water as do reverse osmosis or distilled water.

?: Is usually plated with silver to remove some bacteria, but when reading about Granular activated carbon filtering an artical suggests that using silver-impregnated carbon filters can end up in the water and be dangerous to health.

?: Does not remove hormones from water. Is this still good for someone who wants to get a filter to deal with Breast Cancer or infertility because of oestrogen.

WATER DE-IONIZER

pro: 1) removes bacteria, pathagens
con: 2) ph low - acidic. not ideal for drinking
?: Is it a solvent that will leech important minerals from the body, or is it that once again as i pointed out with the distilled water, that because by drinking it the person isn't getting their standard doses of minerals from unfiltered tap water?

OZONE GENERATOR

pro: oxygenates water and kills bacteria and pathagens
con: can produce dangerous ozone gas

?: does the ozonator alkalise water
?: does it remove toxins?

ULTRA VIOLET LIGHT

pro: kills bacteria and viruses
con: does not remove anything else
con: can reduce in function over time and its difficult to tell whether its still working

GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER

pro: removes some heavey metals, VOCs
pro: cheapest of other filters, and most other filters will incorporate this - ioniser, reverse osmosis etc
con: does not remove bacteria, viruses
con: does not remove fluoride, nitrates , arsenic, iron

BASIC BRITA WATER FILTER
pro: reduces some contaminants, heavey metals ec
con: only reduces a little
con: not good for hard water

So that leaves me with the questions unanswered. Which is best?

CHEAPEST: basic brita water filter
NEXT CHEAPEST: GAC filter
BEST PRACTICAL: ionizer ( most efficient but not most thorough - does not remove hormones, and not sure about silver)
LESS CONTAMINANTS: distilled water (most thorough but lease efficient, but not sure about whether it removes vocs, or leeches the bodies minerals. I think my research suggests it needs to be alkalised after regardless.)

I suppose you could distil the water, then let it sit outside in an organic farm well for a week and then pump it through an ioniser. But then then if you had an organic farm you probably wouldn't be too concerned with drinking the local tap water.
