I had acute cholecystitis which created a seriously infected gall bladder. It hit me on a Saturday am and by Saturday evening I found myself in the ER. The surgeon on call after getting the report from radiology (High Contrast CT scan) said "You can't wait, we're going to surgery." I was the only surgery done that Sunday am. He said later (after a 4 hour open operation) it was life threatening and had I waited a day he might not have been able to do anything for me. Had I taken some of the Quack advise I've seen around here and messed around with flushed etc. I would have died.
By the way I'm a month out and feeling great. Some people have said it's only a money making scheme taking out a gall bladder - my surgeon's fee (for a 4 hour operation) was less that the fee the Doctor charged my son for a 30 minute knee scope.
