Re: multiple myaloma correspondent

What a shock for you. MM at 44. That is not very normal fora mostm patients learn about from a broken bone in the later years due to osteo or MM. I dearly hope that the Stem Cell procedure continues to produce a complete remission. My doctor sort of skirted the stem cell thing I believe due to my age. Although he says I have an advanced case(I guess because it had spread from my pelvis) he is treating it concervatively. I'm on decadron 20mg cycling per month and on daily thalamide 20mg. I get Zometa infusions once a month. The doctor says my blood numbers are perfect and my liver and kidneys are perfect. I believe his plan is not to increase my chemical attack unless dictated by some worsening numbers. I'm going to have a blood test for plasma and that should give us a base to work from in determing whether the disease is worsening. I've been out of the hospital for a month now and trying to get my new hip to work like the "new hip" it is supposed to be. It is coming along well though and as of last week I'm walking (with some pain) without a walker or cane. My quest is what is bone pain. Is it a pain that is continuing no matter which way you stand or sit or lay down. Or is it something that can come and go. I have such a pain, the later, between my back and hip and I'm hoping it is associated with the hip. Pls write when you have time.
