distilled water: acidity/stomach problems/reality?

hi All,
I was introduced to distilled water after reading about the subject via Bragg. I must admit what I found appealing was the concept of pure water, ph 7, no added chemicals especially similiar to what is found in tap water. I have been drinking distilled water for over a year and in the last couple of months experienced abdominal pain and kidney pain. I am a pretty healthy guy with no health problems. I went to see a physician to see if their are any other underlying problems. I have had a blood test and am having a scan. I wondered what could be causing this pain and thought about what I put into my body. After searching on the interne about distilled water I discovered that distilled water exposed to air becomes acidic. Now obviously I wanted to see if that was correct, so i tested the ph of the distilled water and it was dangerously acidic. I was dissapointed and shocked as I was led to believe that an acidic environment was very bad for the body. If the water I am taking in is acidic how can that be good? I am going to start drinking mineral water again and will see if the condition improves.
Has anyone else experienced the same reactions?
Also I would like to hear from people who advocated distilled water if it makes any sense to drink water with such an acidic ph?
I am open minded but do rely on facts and the obvious. At the moment the pain and the acidity of the distilled water I was drinking make me think that this is not good?
Any comments and thoughts are appeciated
