This movie is right up my sphincter, me myself being so critical and sarcastic towards general public and consumer habits.

Quote from link:
"The documentary is a controversial investigation into what may be a characteristic unique to our species-a chronic resistance to intelligence.
Stupidity sets out to determine whether our culture is hooked on deliberate ignorance as a strategy for success. From Adam Sandler to George W. Bush, from the IQ test to TV programming and the origins of the word 'moron', Nerenberg examines the "dumbing down" of contemporary culture."

--------
The Dumbing Down syndrome is both a corporate ploy as well as being a perfect fit for the mentally lazy amongst us [you don't know who you are].
People who are content to let corporations dictate their diet get fat.
People who let government regulators give them peace of mind over the toxic products and materials we pay for and have in our homes get ill, and die.
People who allow the doctors and dentists to have the last word, the only word, on their personal health are simply throwing their health away because all treatments are designed to "keep them coming back".
--- and on and on.
But is it our fault, really? Have we been led down a dumbed-up path? Don't students who speak out get critisized, embarresed perhaps, into stop having their own ideas? Anyone who asks the direct questions about toxins in products is seen as being troublemaker, and it is clear that we will "just get along better" if we shut up.
