In Search of the Perfect Diet... What, when and why???
Get ready change your life for the better... We will search out as many valid diet / nutrition, articles as possible on this blog... Results require efforts. efforts require action.. While there is no perfect diet for everybody, we will lay out info. that should help you find what is best for you...
Date: 9/10/2005 8:59:11 PM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 1918 times First there really is no perfect diet, but there is the best diet for you, friend... One persons food is another's poison, so to speak... Lets try to find it if possible... Everyone body is somewhat different, so you will have to see what works for you, this will be a general statement on diets, not necessarily an exact science... So enjoy exploring the search for the best diet for you...
We will attempt to cove as many aspects as possible on diet.... First, we are all on a diet, the question is what kind of a diet?? What ever you eat is your diet... You do not need to have any special pills, or powers, ect... What you do need is is to have a diet balanced for your personal physical profile type.... We will give you a site where you can plug in your personal data, and find your profile type...
Then we will cover the various food / nutrition groups and direct you to what you need for your purposes... There are several blogs (not mine) that speak of weight loss; read with an open mind, and check out the claims made, some are good, some bad or indifferent.... The body is a machine, as such requires fuel... Fuel is stored energy.. So now you have the basics...Food is the fuel of the body...
We will look at the different food groups... Not just the veg, fruit, meat, grains, stuff; as everyone should know that..... The first thing we need recognize is that there are natural {as God intended} foods, and processed {after man got hold of them} foods... Most of these processed foods the bugs will not eat.... BTW put a some of this processed food out on the ground, in nice weather and see if the ants eat it, Huh!!... The plan is to try to stick as close as possible to the raw / natural foods.... If you are confused here we need to talk...
Some of what your body needs to stay healthily : {This is not a complete list}
1) Vitamins, some of which help regulate your metabolism and keep you functioning... Among other things; Vitamins help your body reduce high blood pressure, resist infections, protect against heart disease and fight off other health problems...
2) Minerals, are like little batteries for your body... They charge you up to get you going... Some include; Calcium builds, strong bones and builds muscle fiber, copper can increase the effectiveness of your immune system.... Selenium is an antioxident... iron helps fight off desease...
3) Carbohydrates, is the fuel for you body... Carbohydrates contain fiber for bulk and good digestion, enzymes for digestion.... Try to eat protein with carbohydrates at most meals... One of the most important elements derived from Carbs is glucose for energy and the brain functions... BTW your brain and muscles require glucose (a sugar) to function properly.... Can you do without this?? DUH!!
4) Water, for transport within the body, and for detoxification.... But be warned too much water can dilute your blood electrolyte levels and cause other undesired problems.... Water a.k.a. as the universal solvent; makes up most all of the fluids in the world, yes even oils, so you can obtain water from juices, and other food groups....
5) Protein, Consume only high quality protein, it helps maintain and repair body tissues and fluids... It also can supply important nutrients... A male should consume approximate four oz, a female should consume appox. three oz per day...
6) Fats, Keep some fats in your diet... The body needs some fats to function properly... Appox 30% of your diet should be good fats... Sources include avocados, virgin olive oil, unrefined coconut oil.... Avoid all hydrogenated oils... Try to keep your Omega 6 to Omega 3 oil ratio at 4 to 1.... We will discuss Omega oils more later...
Another sure fire thing is to Eat in moderation, use the rule of ten, begin by multiplying your weight by 10 to give the initial calories; next adjust your results by the type of life style you have.... Multiply by: a) 125% if you are lightly active, b)135% if you are moderately active, c) 150% if you are extremely active... BTW; it has been found that people who eat a limited diet{less food} live 40% longer than those who eat more...
The last thing for this first diet blog will be one of the most important items in life... Relax and learn to enjoy your meals... To support smooth digestion, {this is where your food is actually used by the body, rather than just passing through} eat at a relaxed pace and in a comfortable environment.... It will help folks...
