What took you so long?? DUH!! Thanks Robbie and all the others!
It should be gratitude, in place of a poor attitude... Those people who do not or have not taken charge of their lives, ask this of those who provide the actual support... When response is necessary, things get done.... Thanks to Robbie and all the others both military and civilian who have gone to help; WELL DONE!!
Date: 9/7/2005 7:46:34 AM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 2735 times This is a photo of an actual life or death rescue of over a hundred {NASA} people from a rebellion on Zanzibar; while I was in the Navy, in 1964...
They did not ask what took you so long?? In fact this is part of the UNCLAS Message from: CNO {Chief Of Naval Operations} to: USS Manley....
1. The following dispatch from Embassy Dar Es Salaam to: CNO; DTG 080030Z for your inormatiom...
" You have been much on our minds if not in our sight, all of us have been deeply grateful for your unseen presence and for a new page Manley has written in the old Navy tradition of speaking softly and maintaining a thoroughly efficient ship. As you leave DAR Station, please accept my warmest appreciation and convey sincerest thanks from this Embassy to the Men of the Manley... Leonhart US Ambassador
2. This message of your out standing performance of vigilant duty is noted with pleasure...
3. Your prompt and correct reaction to the unusual conditions imposed by this situation are in the highest traditions of Naval Service, WELL DONE... CNO
Well Done, thank you should be the message to those military personal who have gone into New Orleans this week... {One of our former neighbor boys ( Robbie). he is a man now of 21, is a member of the US Army; had just come back from Iraq, and went gladly into the aftermath of the destruction in New Orleans.... I think you, and all that went there with you; The Nation (we) should all thank you.... Thats what I call service to your country....
So should be the message to those people in the military assistance provided to the people of New Orleans, this past week... In place of the newspaper headline; I saw this week end.... "What took you so long?".... It was much like another story relayed to me of a News Crew upon setting down in their helicopter, and interviewing a man wino needed some water.... " Oh so they have not gotten any assistance to you, yet??" And you know the news crew had water on the chopper, but did they offer any or attempt to air lift the people out.... NOOOO...!! Don't know which group was reporting, but if you find out it may effect you views of them...
Friends you have to take charge of your life, when bad things happen, DO SOMETHING... Don't just stand there waiting for someone else... Help will come, but you should be grateful for it when it comes.... This is our message for today...
Well Done, thank you for your fine efforts.... To all those military personnel who have gone into the aftermath of this disaster.... Thank You Robbie and all you military personnel one and All!! May GOD bless you, and the grief stricken people of this terrible storm....
