3 Ways To Nourish Your Body Daily

When it comes to all the important things in life, health takes center stage. However, its importance doesn't always get the attention it should.

When it comes to all the important things in life, health takes center stage. However, its importance doesn't always get the attention it should. Oftentimes the real meaning of health is overlooked or overwhelmed by outside forces, which can be detrimental in the long run.

One of the easiest ways to ensure you lead a healthy life is to regularly fuel your body with what it needs to be its best. Fortunately, there are many ways to approach this and one of the simplest ways is to be intentional with nourishment each day. Here are three ways to make it happen.

  1. Focus on Simple, Nutrient-Dense Foods

Food is an amazing thing. It's also something that has become overly complicated over the years, whether it's due to factors such as questionable ingredients, rising food costs, or food intolerances.

Oftentimes, one of the best ways to cut through confusion or overwhelm is to get back to the basics. And when it comes to your diet, doing so can have many rewards — primarily the incredible nutrition you'll find in some of the simplest foods. Think of good quality meats, fermented foods, organic or raw dairy products, fruits, vegetables, and eggs. These foods are not only simple but they're also packed with vitamins and nutrients your body needs to become healthier and stay that way.

If you're still not convinced that food can be medicine, spend some time reading about the Why behind it. The more you know about food, the better your choices (and health) will be.

  1. Supplement Intentionally 

Another great way to ensure you're getting your vitamins each day is to consider supplements. However, this doesn't mean you should run out to the store or fill your cart online with random products that look fantastic and promise the world. What it does mean is that you should take your time getting to know your body and its needs and then focus on adding supplements that make sense for you.

There's no doubt that the supplement world can be overwhelming, which is why it's so important to be intentional about what you take. For example, maybe you've heard about a certain program and decide to enter "What is Thrive" in your next web search. Research is key, so take your time.

There are plenty of ways to determine what you might be lacking. For instance, blood work could show if you're deficient in B-12. Or maybe you've noticed that you're having gut issues, struggling with brittle nails, or dealing with restless legs at bedtime. Listen to your body.

  1. Soak Up the Sun

Have you ever thought about how incredible the sun is? In a culture where cautionary tales abound regarding the sun, it can sometimes be hard to fully enjoy it. However, if you're avoiding the sun, you're also missing out on some of its amazing (and free) benefits.

There is a way to get sun exposure and do so safely and again, this is something you need to be intentional about. To start with, make getting early morning sun a priority. Remember, you do want to avoid sunburns and excessive exposure, so morning light is best.

Also, daily exposure to the sun is not only fantastic for your circadian rhythm, but it also has incredible immune-and-mood-boosting properties. It's also great for system function and metabolic health. Try finding all those benefits in a bottle of supplements!

Nourishing yourself each day shouldn't be complicated, but it can take some tweaking to your lifestyle to get you on the right path. Keep it simple, be intentional, and enjoy the benefits of your good choices.
