Eco Art: "Squiggles"/"Goddess Two"
Continuing my "cardboard kick", made two more box creations. I've decided to make 16 art pieces of this same sized box. So far, counting these, there are 4 box creations...only 12 more to go!

Cardboard cracker boxes, both 8.5" x 6.5" x 2.5", turned inside out, coated with matte acrylic.
"Squiggles": reused paint palette, hand embroidered onto box; jute hanger. I use unbleached waxed paper for a paint palette, and instead of throwing it away save it for reuse. The pink "ink splotch" was created by folding the paint palette in half to disperse the left-over paint; a bit more acrylic paint was added to make the "dots". The embroidery was challenging to do--I punched holes in the cardboard with a large needle designed for leather repair. My poor fingers were sore for a couple of days after pushing and pulling the embroidery floss/sewing needle through the holes.
"Goddess Two": images from magazine advertisements; cardboard packaging materials; dried bird-of-paradise flowers; jute hanger.
The portrait of "Venus" is from a magazine catalog advertisement; her hair is enhanced with colored ink pens. I've used this image of "Venus" about five other times in art pieces; the advertisers developed this image from a 1480's painting by Botticelli called "Birth of Venus". If you look closely at the original painting, you can see that they've made "Venus" a bit more modest by moving her arm and hand down: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_Venus#/media/File:Sandro_Botticelli_-_La_nascita_di_Venere_-_Google_Art_Project_-_edited.jpg
