Life is?? # 153 Most violence is
the lack of fear of God
** There are many whys and what ifs in life? When you seek the truth, it will be related either to mere personal assumptions or else be that Almighty God has given us a plan or way.
Yet many do not seek or accept the whole truth! **

Why Does God Let Bad Things
Happen?
The wrong assumption:
Questions like
Why does God let bad things happen?
Assume that God sovereignly controls everything.
{Moment to moment - which in not true}
This is a wrong assumption. God is sovereign, but He has given dominion to mankind.
Genesis 1:28 –
And God blessed them, and God
said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish
the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.
These are the first recorded words from God to people. He gave us dominion. The Word of God is exalted, even above His name (Ps . 138:2).
A man is no better than his word. God does not say anything unless He means it and then it’s binding to Him. God will not break nor alter His covenant. When He
says something, it becomes His bond.
God gave man dominion:
Hebrews 2:6‐9 –
But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
or the son of man, that thou visits him?
Thou made him a little lower than the angels; thou
crowned him with glory and
honor, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
But we see Jesus, who was
made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
He upholds all things through the word of His power. If God were to violate His word, then you and I — and the entire universe — would cease to exist.
Hebrews 1:3 –
Who{Jesus} being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
God cannot lie.
Hebrews 6:17‐18 says,
“Wherein God, willing more
abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
That by two immutable things,
in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.”
God gave us dominion over all the earth, and when we don’t do what is right, God doesn’t just intervene.
He upheld His Word.
Mankind handed over their power to the devil:
Romans 6:16 –
Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to
whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Go back to Genesis 1.
God gave
you dominion, and He gave
you authority. He gave control to mankind and took Himself out of the equation.
At the fall, mankind blew it and handed over their power to the devil. Satan has been loosed on the earth by us, not God. If you think every storm and every death is from God, that’s not true. God does
not control death, and it’s not His will when people die. It is God’s Will that none should perish.
2 Peter 3:9 –
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us‐ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The devil’s agenda:
John 10:10 –
The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and
to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Satan brought death and hatred and is going about the earth to kill, steal, and destroy.
First Peter 5:8 says,
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking
whom he may devour.”
He can’t devour everyone!
Sometimes individuals give place to the devil by their actions. If and when you don’t take care of yourself and then you get sick, just remember that it was not God who make you sick.
We live in a fallen world.
*** Concerning the Las Vegas mass shooting, investigators speculate that the shooter was mentally ill. But it’s more than that. It’s Demon
possession. This is a person who gave himself over to the devil. No one does these things on their own. People who do these kinds of things are under another evil influence.
We are the salt of the earth:
What I said above is not a popular statement, but demon possession is not just in dark corners of Africa. There are demon possessed people here.
Yes right here in the USA today!
As believers, we are the preserving influence on the
earth. We are the salt of the earth, and if we are not applying the Gospel and Truth to our nation, then we give Satan free reign
(see Matt. 5).
There is a direct relation between the increase of these attacks and us moving away from God and losing a God consciousness in our modern society.
Psalm 36:1 –
The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that the re is no fear of God before his eyes.
The wicked person may not say he’s wicked or that he doesn’t fear God, but his actions will show it.
When such a tragedy like this happens, people come out against guns and ask for more increased security measures, but the problem isn’t the guns.
People are looking for other reasons, but the root of violence is the lack of fear of God.
The majority of preachers today don’t teach on the existence of hell. As a result, many people don’t
believe the Word of God or in the existence of an afterlife or that we will surely stand before God one day.
We have moved away from where God wants us to be, and the Christian Church today has not always stood up and presented the truth.
People lack accountability, but if people thought about eternity and standing before God one
day, they would be deterred from committing these evil offenses.
Our response should be —
Speak the truth in love:
Ephesians 4:15 –
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head,
even Christ.
There’s a right and wrong way to speak the truth. There are people speaking the truth without love,
which is wrong. But if the Church stood up and spoke the truth in love, people’s consciences would forbid them from doing evil.
We’ve removed God’s standards and now anything goes. As the fear of God continues to diminish, we’ll see more tragic behavior. Even
enforcing strict gun laws won’t help.
The only real defense is a reverence for God. The body of Christ needs to be salt and light.
We need to do our part and stand up:
Instead of talking about other incidental issues with coworkers and friends, tell them that we need to
return to God and focus on bigger, foundational issues. We need to pray, have a fear of God, turn back to the Word of God, and stop giving glory to Satan’s agenda.
Testify of Jesus, who came so that we may have everlasting, abundant life.
Teach others that God doesn’t
allow these things or allow anything. He works through us on the earth, and His will is done to the degree that we submit to him and allow Him
to flow through us!
Amen!
Here is the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth, so help me God!
