A "Trilogy" of Your Life!
4.) In search of a "field" for my book.
Date: 6/12/2014 5:55:08 AM ( 10 y ) ... viewed 1671 times Several days ago I began writing my book. It may be possible to present a "story" about how that came about and I'll probably work on that for the book's foreword. Presently I'm on a quest to identify what the main "field" is for my book. I've been looking at "cultural creative" and now looking at "integral".
"... Rudolf Steiner ... used the term integral ... (especially) the integral evolution of man… (that includes) the spiritual essence of man's being."[3]
Now reading the foreword to: "An Esoteric Cosmology" - a lecture by Steiner cited in a footnote at the fullwiki link[3]:
"...The diverse parts of Nature were linked together, related to these cosmic Powers from the heights to the depths, from the depths to the heights, and a vista of the mighty architecture of the universe opened up from the inner world where the visible is ever coming to birth from the womb of the invisible."[4]
In his first lecture Steiner says "... we live in cities that are like deafening factories in awful Babels, with nothing to remind us of our inner world."
I count this as possibly the most potent single-line description of my sense of city life as I had known it (growing up in Chicago) by the time I was about 18 years old living (if not before). Especially the phrase "with nothing to remind us of our inner world."
And this: "What, in effect, is Theology? A knowledge of God imposed from without under the form of dogma, as a kind of supernatural logic. And what is Theosophy? A knowledge of God which blossoms like a flower in the depths of the individual soul. God, having vanished from the world, is reborn in the depths of the human heart."
I grew up "under" and eventually right into theology. (That is another book in itself.) Steiner's last line is my answer to the gap presented by Richard Tarnas in "Cosmos and Psyche" (which I intend to make reference to in my book).
What "field" would my book come under that includes a number of themes such as "cultivating Self-Awareness", "Consciousness-Raising", "Communication Process", and the fulfillment of our destinies?

August 31, 2019 - More With Your "Inner World." -
"Your daily life is made up of exchanges with the outer world, but you should be more concerned with your inner world, because you have to deal with that all the time. You are not always watching, listening, touching or tasting something outside of you, but you are always with yourself, with your thoughts, your feelings and your desires – these never stop. It is just a question of knowing what you must do with them. As long as the outside world is the main focus of your attention and your expectations, you will be disappointed. Maybe, for a time, you will be able to imagine you have hold of something, but after a while you will be forced to admit that you have nothing anymore – everything has left you. Are you looking for happiness, for love, for meaning in your life? You must look for them first and foremost in yourself."[6]

How interesting that I just happened to be inspired to post a follow-up here and now discover that this blog was formed one year ago! A lot has transpired over this past year since I reported that "I began writing my book". The (working) "title" for the first "book" is: "Talking Your Way Into Heaven". My latest thinking regarding general organizing is that "Talking Your Way ..." is the first in a trilogy that will be followed by "The Dragonfly's Dream" plus "10,000 Butterflies"[1]. I have large tote file full of notes and the like from which I can write a first draft. I accept that writing is mostly a matter of rewriting.
I also realize that "all books are generalizations that are written through someone else's design. The only true book is therefore one that is written for you the individual ..."[2]
I'm attracted to the idea of writing for the individual with the intention of aligning with their "book of life"! I can see the possibility of discovering that alignment with specific Dyads and dialogues recorded with the individual and then transcribing those. The Dyads and dialogues are actually what the first book is largely about!

Do you need a book to learn how to communicate? Maybe before you answer that consider this: Do you experience communicating with others as life to you? And just as importantly - is it life for the other individuals as well? If so then IMO you may not need to learn how to communicate. However, do you know how to dialogue with others? If so do you see community growing as a result of your dialogues? If that is true for you then how would you like to write a book about that? ; ~ )
The book that I have been envisioning over the past year or so has three sections. The first is about the mechanics of communication. My latest imagination/vision on that is to make the "mechanics" as graphic and as interesting as possible. (I'm considering illustrating this based on the experience of hearing music played by the finest orchestra.) Dyads are used for communication exercises.
In the second section we extend the ability to communicate through the use of dialogue. Dialogue is the foundation for healthy communities. We need communities and therefore need to master our communication abilities so they can extend into abilities to dialogue. Dialogue can practiced in the form of Dyad that is less structured than traditional Dyad exercises.
In the third section dialogue is applied in negotiating and in re-negotiating real life agreements.

The wisdom of Omraam continues to bless me and I wish to extend the blessings to the world! Today's "Thought for the day" is validating! Last June I wrote: "I'm attracted to the idea of writing for the individual with the intention of aligning with their "book of life". Omraam says: "Human beings can be compared to books, books that they themselves are writing."![5]
