We spend our lives chasing our proverbial tails. Life has become a race to see who can get to the top the quickest, who can accomplish as much as is humanly possible in a lifetime, who can amass the most stuff, who can produce the most money and last but not least, who can brag the loudest! Amen.
So, let's look at the mentality of the world, to what end are these accomplishments when you die, hmm?
YOUR DEAD!
Who knows when they will die, who knows how they will die or where? no one, life is a "crapshoot" for everyone, rich and poor, weak and powerful, life has no favorites when it comes to death.
The real question is, what will happen to that rich, handsome, powerful man, that woman of celebrity and wealth when God says it's over?
Their time is up! They will die and be treated like everyone else, they will be judged not by their: accomplishments nor by their wealth and power, not by the car they drive, or the mansion they live in, not even by the numbers of their charities.
But on judgment day with only The Lord Jesus present, you will know who you "dissed" all of your life, the ones who were inconvenient to your lifestyle or celebrity status.
God will ask Jesus, who is this my Son? Jesus to God, "Sorry Father I have never know them."
I know what your thinking at this point, hey "dude" surly you know me, I'm cool, I'm all that, I'm the guy with the big mansion, the cool cars, you know, the dude who all the beautiful women who desire me, the one who attends all the gala events for the poor and for the planet, I even made the tabloids once, you know me dude, you know you do!
Sorry dude, end of the story, no one cares anymore, your dead, now all they care about is, what did he leave me, "he who dies with the most toys is dead"!
Ecclesiastes 1:1-4 KJB - The words of the preacher, the son of David, King in Jerusalem. Vanities of vanities saith the preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit has a man of all his labor which he takes under the sun? One generation passes away, and another generation comes: but the earth abides forever. Amen.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJB Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Amen.
12:.14 KJB For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Amen.
We are a fickle people, we ignore God, we deny Jesus all of our lives until we need them, then suddenly we get OMG - "religion", all of us do it, the difference is in the sincerity of our "cry" and God knows our hearts. All of the things of this earth will not buy you one day in Heaven with God, your celebrity has no effect on God, he knows your heart, all of your money will not buy you one second in Eternity for God, knows your heart.
Matthew 6:19-21 KJB Jesus said, Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where the moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasure in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Because where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Amen and Amen.
Do you know when you will die, if not, your no different from the person who just died suddenly at 30 years of age, you may have a lifetime, whatever that maybe, you may have an hour, you better get to work, one hour to get to know God and Jesus isn't very long "dude", but the longest moment of your life will come at that moment when Jesus responds to His Father, Sorry Father, I have never known this one!
