Not being widely reported, as in "nowhere in mainstream media", is the image captured in a webcam that watches over the geographic North Pole that clearly shows OPEN WATER on July 21st, 2013.
Where I read the news today was a a blog simply titled "Arctic News", here> http://arctic-news.blogspot.ca/
Being scientists, those behind the camera are admitting that water can sit on top of ice, so it could be from a heavy rain, or flooding over ice, with ice beneath the water.
Nonetheless, even those explanations, water has not been seen at the North Pole before, only ice, all summer, every summer.... until this week. THIS WEEK!!
Also, perhaps more alarming, is observed releases of METHANE coming up out of the northern oceans near the north pole. Methane is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2 is, and there are vast stores of methane frozen to the bottom of the oceans. When the oceans warm, that methane could be released and if it does happen, global warming will be accellerated greatly.... this is known as a "cascade event" where "warming causes more warming".
Uh oh... the fat is hitting the shin [meaning "the shit hitting the fan" for all you non dyslexics out there].
This is a monumental year in the 'ongoing saga' of climate change and global warming - atmospheric CO2 levels hit 400 ppm [for the first time in about 800,000 years] and now OPEN WATER AT THE NORTH POLE.... for the first time in how long? I don't know... lets just say "not recently".
