Day 2, Some Info & A Film
Day 2 Liquid Fast - Link to Fasting Film by BBC
Date: 10/19/2012 1:41:03 AM ( 12 y ) ... viewed 19593 times It's day 2 of the fast, going well - Did a bit more Yoga today - easing into it again after a couple of months off, spent half my winter in Beautiful Bali where I got very fit and did a lot of Yoga, then came home to a cold, uninspiring climate and massive workload and got so swamped that all fell to the wayside. It's spring again now and the workload is much more balanced and all this is finding me much happier and inspired to push forward.
Wanted to provide the link to a film a friend e-mailed me recently about Fasting - and Intermittent Fasting and the awesome benefits of this.

The Film is Called Eat, Fast and Live Longer - It's on Youtube also so you can look for it there if the link ever fails.
Around 38mins, there is some info on Intermittent Fasting, a program that has people eat basically what they like on one day, than do a alt calorie restriction day where women eat 400-500 cals, men 500-600. Small enough to classify as a form of fasting. This is had as one meal around lunch time and is the "Fast Day" - I'm interested in this form of fasting as an ongoing lifestyle change to adopt once this fast is over. It seems to provide tremendous health and anti-aging/disease benefits and to be fairly easy to adopt.
Around 46 mins the video shows evidence about how fasting actually triggers the development of new brain cells forming, something hitherto thought impossible.
Around 23 mins he goes into information on 'The Growth Hormone - IGF 1" This hormone seems to slow production dramatically when fasting, which turns the mechanism of the body from creating new cells to repairing cells and DNA - this in turn addresses age related disease and slows the aging process more dramatically than anything found to date. Good news for Fasters, staying free of illness and aging gracefully :) I already intuitively knew this, it's always nice to see science catching up with ancient practice though!
The mosquitoes in my backyard started feasting on me, so I stopped my afternoon yoga and came in here to write this :0
Wanted to give that bit of info - Will make an entry again soon & keep you posted!
