We tend to live in the thimble of life.

For generations we’ve been born into boxes of limitations,

each generation living according to the expectations

of the generation that came before,

everyone only daring to push the imagined limits

as far as the current society can allow.

Each generation thinks that they truly have pushed the limits,

have really stepped forward into some new direction,

some new frontier.

Dancing on the edges of breakthroughs,

taking it way too seriously, and not allowing JOY.

We fight our Grandfathers’ wars

that were started over imagined issues

that we can’t even pretend to know.

We make enemies from someone else’s fears

and think that we need to spill everyone’s blood

over lines drawn in the sand.

We keep repeating, repeating

and repeating the same mistakes,

the same limited thinking.

They say this is the fifth world,

the four before all destroyed because of human greed, power plays,

and living within the constraints of each oppressive society,

their rules, regulations and boxes of expectations.

Why do we not learn?

We keep holding dear the boxes of our lineage.

Those boxes are like gold.

The limitations are like a prison of cherished idols.

The boxes are lined up………
