Why is it that we seem to go kicking and screaming into change?
Why do we seem to think that all change is bad?
Why do we think that the path of JOY is so difficult?
Why do we say..."Oh I'm having too much fun!"?
As if there should be a limit on being in
EN-JOY-MENT !
We drag our heels when we see change coming.
We yell and scream and invent dramas in order to avoid something new.
Why not allow the changes to be a good thing?
Why not allow JOY to be an ordinary part of our lives?
We would rather bang our heads against the walls of bad relationships, bad working conditions, negative environments, than to allow them to change into something better.
Deep in our hearts we know that we want things to be better....
we just don't want to do the work required to bring them about.
We don't want the comfortable to change even though it is making us miserable.
Interestingly, we hope for the better, meanwhile doing everything to keep things the way that they are.
It is never up to us. It is the other person’s fault. It is them who need to change. (Not me!)
It is my business partner's fault.
It is my spouses fault....again...not my fault...
THEY need to change....not ME!
As I counsel people in their business and personal lives I see more and more of this occurring.
As we as a whole world continue to grow through some huge changes on all levels, it is even more urgent that we recognize how we sabotage ourselves by resisting change.
