Raw Milk Issues Are Food Sovereignty Issues!
Beginning to identifying, prioritize and clarify a number of Raw Milk issues & subsequently identifying a foundational issue of "Food Sovereignty"!

Some of these issues seem to have the appearance of controversy surrounding them. That is why we started with: "The Raw Milk Controversy: Fact & Fiction" as the original title in the DVD that I have produced.
It is my intention to begin an index to this blog and identify the issues that I have covered (over the past two years) starting with at least four categories including:
Food Freedom (AKA Food Sovereignty),
Health & Nutrition,
Dairy Farming and
Legal Issues.
In the Raw Milk DVD we also covered history that includes some historical background on these issues. The "milk controversies" and more accurately stated "milk wars" of today are part of a long and pretty dirty road that has been continuing on through time for well over 100 years!
IMO - The issue of "Food Freedom" is better stated by calling it a "Food Sovereignty" issue. Speaking to any sovereignty issue requires a fundamental understanding (by all concerned) of certain core American documents. Sovereignty is where our founding American documents truly come from. However, our American-grown Sovereignty is not actually taught in our public schools or fully acknowledged in our media or (preached) in the churches and therefore it is virtually unknown! What we are taught instead is domestication! We need to relearn what Sovereignty is; especially so we can live it!
"Food sovereignty is the idea that it is an inalienable 'right' (to own, possess and) manage one’s food, agriculture, livestock and fishery systems in the way one sees fit."

"Health & Nutrition" can include nutrition therapy [i.e. the "milk cure"(1)]. It can also include all the health and safety issues that have always come with pasteurized milk. There are more health issues with the kind of factory-farmed milk that absolutely had to be pasteurized (so it wouldn't wind-up killing people) than there are with grass-fed raw milk!
"Dairy Farming" needs to include agricultural models of "sustainability" just like we can see in Biodynamic Agriculture.
"Legal Issues" can include all legal/lawful business structures as well as related issues of privacy and other Rights issues.
This Blog began on or about January 9th, 2008. The first blog was titled: "Greetings Raw Milk Lovers". I set out in the beginning that my intention was to blog on behalf of the raw milk movement.
The first foundation that I referred in support of that movement related to the issue of "Food Freedom" which I had called "Food Sovereignty" at that time. We The People are the Sovereigns, however we need to really know this on the deepest levels and especially so we can reassert our Sovereignty! What does that mean? To me it first means that we need to know the most fundamental of things and namely: who we are as a people and as individuals, what we are in terms of this Grand American Experiment along with becoming fully informed of the truths of our three (or four) most important historical documents. This knowledge will empower us as Sovereign beings and as a Sovereign people! I guarantee that the issue of "Food Sovereignty" (by this or any other name) will become crystal clear to us just as soon as we know and live our Sovereignty! That understanding will most certainty illuminate the "Legal Issues" so that the most appropriate forms of business can be used by us in ways that certain business forms were originally intended to serve us and our communities.
I consider both categories of "Food Freedom" and "Legal Issues" as residing primarily within the same sphere of "Rights". At this time these two aspects (of what I can see in one core issue) are the most challenging of the four listed issue categories. The "Rights Sphere" is where I have a calling to contribute what I can to the possibility of a more enlightened America!
