Bisphenol A and Phthalates: Male Fertility drops by HALF
Bisphenol A and Phthalates harmfull effects on sperm; industry spokesman caught lying his shorts off.
Date: 11/6/2008 10:44:23 PM ( 16 y ) ... viewed 1830 times In a news conferance about Bisphenol A and Phthalates, the chemicals industry spokesman said that "there are NO studies showing any harm whatsoever from Bisphenol A or Phthalates". He was dead serious, and spoke with authority. So, maybe after all, there really was nothing to it, we were just hearing rumours again.
Then a reporter asked him to produce some of those studies. He showed them three, all of which in fact said there was no harm, no threat to the health of humans or animals, from Bisphenol A or Phthalates. Clearly, plainly.
The reporter then brought out several boxes with over 100 studies, including the three the chemicals industry spokesman had just shown them. Those three studies that the chemicals industry spokesman were the only ones saying that Bisphenol A and Phthalates did not cause harm to humans, and they were all commissioned by the chemicals industry!!
"Bought and paid for", fake science tailored to some corporate interest, so similar to when the tobacco industry bosses sat there and testified that tobacco was not addictive and it is not harmfull, does not cause cancer. No repercussions for lying under oath, or for lying about potentially damaging substances.
In fact, in those 97 studies, and what scientists on the TV show about Bisphenol A and Phthalates that the CBC ran tonight [Nov 7th 2008], Bisphenol A and Phthalates are the reason that HUMAN MALES ARE GOING STERILE. Fewer human males are being born too. Animal studies also show a decrease in penis size and sperm quality, numbers, and motility.
The World Health Organisation has reduced it's ways of measuring male human fertility, so that at least half of men can fit into the "normal" category. I did not catch what the numbers refer to, but it went from 75, to 40, and now they are debating about taking it down to 10. That is the reduction in global male sperm quality. Generally, human male's sperm quality has been reduced by about HALF in the past 50 years. WOW, thats a lot!!! And it is accepted that this is from Bisphenol A and Phthalates, which mimic estrogen.
Nature works in wonderfull ways though - with fewer males, perhaps we will have fewer liars at the top of the corporate heap!!
