at 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference
Malaki Obado drove oxen back in Kenya.
He is an exciting voice for backyard gardening.
May he soon have a backyard so big that he
has oxen!!!!! He is focused on beekeeping and raising
Talapia now, a fish you can grow at home.
Malaki Obado will be part of our Basics of Homesteading,
10 AM-11:15 AM Saturday April 24, 2010. Maps will
be available at registration. He lives in a small house
off 54th Street not far from the New Roots Community Garden.
He grows much of his greens and fresh food in his backyard.

Barry Logan of the La Milpa Oranica Farm Community
is one of three main Beet Growers whose beets will be honored
in the opening ceremony at the 2010 Cultivating Food Justice
Conference in San Diego April 24-25. The project to grow
a beet in a pot began in an inspiration to create a Moment
of Awakening among shoppers. With a water crisis on our hands,

I jumped full on into the week
when I came out of the desert.
Sunday night and monday, part of Tuesday
I was creating something that I later dismantles.
I created some difficult feelings as well.
Tuesday was unexpectedly delightful,
a seder.
Deb staying all last week was a boost
of delight.
She is helping me right now deconstruct
and put away things that never gort put away.
Toward the end of the week, I took another leap
back into the 201 Cultivating Food Justice,
and a bit of committment toward Earth Fair.
