Both assemblages are commenting on the oil industry and all the pollution and waste that happens because of it. Our children and their children suffer because we think we "need" fossil fuels. The oil industry does not want to lose the billions of dollars it gets due to their unwillingness to move ahead with alternative fuels.

Poem for the New Year, 2013
CHOICE
I’m flying on a shaft of light,
spider webs of energy
laid out along a spiraled path
lit by the sun
through the mist of droplets,
sparkling rainbows
wherever the web connections meet.
The web seems so fragile,
yet it holds secure
in tree branches that lift the energies
to Spirit.
Rainbows, rainbows, rainbows,
sparkling,
lighting the Universes that I choose from.

Migratory geese land in small park near my home

I live in the high desert and there are very few birds here as there is not much water around. So I was quite surprised to be driving by the small park the other day and saw this really BIG flock of white geese.
I was wondering what they were doing HERE in the high desert!

I recently received a surprise present from an art friend.
It is a healing doll and I was given the task of finding her name.

She is blue (feminine, intuitive) with white hair and skirt (wise one, purity).
She carries a deer skin medicine bag that contains a piece of California white sage, a shard of ancient pottery from Arizona, a piece of turquoise from Arizona and has a Ishi shell button from Maui to close the bag.
She wears a serape and I made her a headband out of the same material, so she wears the heavens and stars....Queen of the Universe!
I have been holding her, talking to her and listening to her already.

It’s been a long time since I last posted. I’ve been very busy looking for a property to move to in Northern California, so I’ve done little art.
I did decide to get a new camera, a Canon Power Shot, and have just gone out and taken some pictures.
Around me is really all sandy desert, so when I saw these groups of interesting rocks, I decided to take pictures of them.

Had a spontaneous shamanic experience!

I had a spontaneous shamanic experience two days ago. I was sitting at my computer, and then suddenly I "saw" coyote standing there and then I BECAME coyote! It WAS an experience...not a daydream.
I see coyote standing near the woods, looking at me.
Suddenly, I AM coyote.
I shape shift as I go.
I see the world as coyote.
Everything is ALIVE and moving with energy!
I see the mountains that are breathing, moving as if they had lungs,
filling in and out as they breathe.

• Got several books in a series so they would all be the same size and cut triangles off the corners of the hard covers.

A spring story of my time as a child with Grandfather

One time I was visiting, my Grandfather said that it was time to go pick blueberries. Well, I love blueberries, so I was more than willing to go. This is a small, rough type ”brochure” of sorts, made on reused fast food paper bags.
Page #1 Mother Earth with hearts: WE LOVE MOTHER EARTH.
Page #2 A city with pollution spewing all around and under the city is lots of pollution from oil drilling and fracking.
Page #3 (L) We love money and the consumer lifestyle.
Page #4 (R) A beautiful tree, but under it is piles of litter that we leave everywhere we go.
Page #5 The trash that litters all our oceans all over the earth.

Here is my latest...altered book? assemblage? Whatever it is!

This came to me as I thought the center piece, which is made up of many different paperbacked books, cut up and the edges painted green would look a little like grass. Therefore the title, "Reading Grass"...so much for my sense of humor!

I AM A FORMADABLE WOMAN
I am a formadable woman
I was born of Earth Mother
My voice rides on the winds
My eyes discern the Shadows of the Soul
I shift my shape at will
My fire transforms the dross
