Some years ago when one of my sons and I did the Appalachian Trail in GA, where we met a man called Echo.

While on the trail we had tent camped at first but then realized that there were Lento s {a three-sided structure built just off the ground with the front-facing the local fire pit!} - every so often so we stayed there, and each had a logbook from whoever had preceded us. Well, we read several of the entries: One that caught our eye was from a man posted as simply an Echo! * From his sign-in name ”Just an Echo” on the Appalachian Trail Logs books found at each rest area. Unbeknownst to us little did we know that we would catch up with him at The 5th U.S. Army Ranger Training Battali ...   read more

What is your Brain doing right now?   3 y
A brain is like a well-oiled and designed machine. When it’s working well—like; such as when it’s reading or studying problems that need clarification! Such as signs and words upon a page such as the words on this blog—we don’t notice it at all. But when we sleep, the brain takes our consciousness offline; to start the real work: sorting through that day’s input of information, storing the more important things, and cleaning out the fluff and distracting elements! Brains are extremely so well-designed, so much so we seldom even notice when it’s breaking down.

Why can’t you be smart all the time? When we complete mentally stimulating tasks, we engage neurons all across our brains. Distant neurons talk to each other through axons, which extend, tentacle-like, from the body of one neuron to tickle another with an electrical signal. Scientists refer to the network of axons in our brains as “white matter,” while the bodies of neurons and other cells in the brain are “grey matter.” ============================ From Pocket worthyStories to fuel your mind. Not getting sick all comes down to the health of your immune system, and the bulk of your immune system lives in your gut.
