Tissue content of mercury in rats given methylmercuric chloride orally: influence of intestinal flora.
Abstract
The effect of intestinal flora on the absorption and dispositon of mercury in tissues was investigated using conventional rats, and rats treated with antibiotics to eliminate their gut flora. Antibiotic-treated rats given [203Hg]-labeled methylmercuric chloride orally had significantly more mercury in their tissues, especially in kidney, brain, lung, blood, and skeletal muscle, and also excreted less mercury in the feces than conventional rats. Furthermore, in the kidneys of ...

The mercury and candida are symbiotic, mercury kills off the good bacteria that the body needs and that would control the candida, absent the mercury. Iorganic mercury is extremely toxic to bacteria and yeast, but candida can methylate inorganic mercury to methyl mercury, which through some mechanism does not kill the candida. Irregardless of mercury, candida when its killed gives off powerful toxins. I’m not sure whether candida provides any protection from mercury, but a person with mercury and candida usually has serious health issues. The only way to deal with them is to get rid of ...

How toxic is elemental mercury?
Of all the forms of mercury, elemental mercury is the most commonly swallowed form of mercury, usually from a broken thermometer. Fortunately, elemental mercury from a thermometer is not absorbed from the stomach and will not cause any poisoning in a healthy person. In a healthy person, the slippery swallowed mercury will roll into the stomach, out in to the bowels and will be quickly eliminated without causing any symptoms. A person with severe inflammatory bowel disease or those with a fistula (hole or opening) in their gut may have problems with mercury ...

Last Friday, the city council of Berkeley, California, voted to keep mercury hidden in dental fillings, keeping consumers in the dark on the fact that they are all being poisoned with a deadly neurotoxin that causes permanent brain damage. This decision to keep consumers in the dark was, of course, supported by dentists and doctors — both of which have a long history of covertly poisoning their own patients while refusing to disclose the damaging effects of the deadly chemicals or toxic heavy metals they routinely (and profitably) use ...

Re: Questions about amalgams fillings
by daveh 17 y
It has been shown by numerous studies in Europe and in the United States that some people are sensitive to mercury fillings as mercury is a neurotoxin. Studies have linked mercury vapor to bad health effects. Amalgam fillings emitted mercury vapor. Low level long term exposure to mercury vapor may be more harmful than short term acute exposure to concentrated levels of mercury vapor. The primary source of mercury in Americans is from dental fillings. A New Zealand study of more than 10,000 people mainly below the age of forty indicated a higher incidence of neurological disorders incl ...

Good question.
Even ”mercury free” dentists work with mercury (by drilling it out of people) so all dentist offices will have mercury contamination to some extent. I believe ”mercury free” dentistry really just means they don’t install mercury. They still drill out old mercury fillings which leaves some in the office as vapor or particles. I would think if a dentist refused to deal with mercury at all, like even replacing mercury amalgams, he would have very few patients and soon go out of business.

It’s the fractionated porphyrin urine test. I guess I’m getting dislexic.
Mercury vapor passes through the blood rapidly(half-life in blood is 10 seconds(370)) and accumulates in other parts of the body such as the brain, kidneys, liver, thyroid gland, pituitary gland, etc. Thus blood test measures mostly recent exposure and mostly organic mercury. Kidneys have a lot of hydroxyl(SH) groups which mercury binds to causing accumulation in the kidneys, and inhibiting excretion(503). Mercury is tricky because mercury hides in your body and is hard to detect. I’d also advise getting tested for the excretion of heavy metals, through hair analysis (from a naturopath), so you have a baseline to compare in a year after fasting etc.
When many people initially suffer from mercury poisoning, if the source is still there they often suffer mercury retention (they are excreting almost no mercury at all). When they have the source of mercury removed (ex. mercury amalgams), their body starts to dump the easy-to-clean mercury at a higher than average rate for 6-9 months. Later, y ...

There are several forms of mercury, of which Methylmercury is the most toxic form. It affects the immune system, alters genetic and enzyme systems, and damages the nervous system, including coordination and the senses of touch, taste, and sight. Methylmercury is particularly damaging to developing embryos, which are five to ten times more sensitive than adults. Exposure to methylmercury is usually by ingestion, and it is absorbed more readily and excreted more slowly than other forms of mercury. The problem with mercury amalgams ”starts” when the mercury begins to leach out of the filling and into the blood stream; this happens slowly but surely as your filling starts to degrade (your saliva is enough to do this).
Many people advocate not to start chelation until your mercury fillings are out because chelating agents will ”hunt” for mercury and not only will chelate mercury in your blood stream but will also chelate the one in your fillings.
The problem with this is that chelation can pull out mercury of the amalgam too fast and actually increase your mercury levels, causing you ...
