Weigh in day...(w/out results)
I'm procrastinating :)
Date: 3/2/2006 12:50:45 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2137 times I'm at home this afternoon, supposedly for a supervised gas check (utility not colonic hahahaha - that's only funny at this site and I love that, lol)
The gas company cancelled and I'm going to run a bunch of errands - the fam is coming into town this weekend - my sister & her boyfriend will stay with us and my Dad and his wife Patt will stay at a hotel near by. There are lots of things on the docket - birthday dinner out for me (tomorrow!) and then Saturday with my future inlaws and the whole gang, seeing art, a wine tasting, and general hanging out in the country.
I have so much to do and this sense of urgency in the pit of my stomach. Dazzle said I've seemed to pick up since the colonics and I couldn't agree more. I'm urgently moving towards something - and I think it's the new me.
I can see a difference in the mirror. I can see definition in my stomach. Last night I took a night off from going to the gym and went back to the yoga studio (I've studied for 5 years, but haven't done any since the beginning of the year except at home). What a treat! I took a level II Iyengar class and it was awesome. I could have handled even a little more vigorous yoga, but it was so perfect.
My body has felt a little beat up from running on the treadmill. I spoke about it to my dad and he, who also has crappy ankles, said try slowing down but making the grade as steep as you can (7 out of 8). Then you don't come down so hard, and you'll find a setting at which you burn the same number of calories. Brilliant, I say!
So I'm going to head off and run a bunch of errands, but first I'm going to the gym for a weigh in. I don't have time to workout today but I'll spend the night cleaning furiously for my guests, and I know I'll burn plenty of calories, and I won't be all tired & sweaty when I get home.
What am I doing here? Procrastinating. I've been "off" the scale since I went away to school in 9th grade. Mostly because I didn't want to know, that it was nothing but a number, and I'd always been an athlete so it was "mostly heavy muscle" weight all the excuses.
It's been a month of really hard work and damnit I"m going to weigh in and get measured, and I'm going to be positive about the results.
