good weekend, thinking about calorie reduction for a week or so...

The weekend is over, and I think I did really well. I made an some amazing dishes - barley and feta stuffed red peppers and vegetable pie. I did not have any seconds of anything. I did have a lot of cheese, but I didn't get "stuffed" at any point, I enjoyed my food, and there was real portion control going on. It felt good.

I did have a few beers, but I tried to keep them few and far between.

We had a WONDERFUL time with our friends up from NYC, and my mom also came for a while. There was a blackout the first night, and it was fun and a little spooky, but luckily the power came on before it got too cold!

On the butt-front, I've had amazing experiences since my last colonic last Wednesday. For the first time, I've been having a BM each time I eat a meal. That means I'm functioning closer to the way a regular person functions, which is GREAT!!!!

I'm also going on a reduced calorie plan until my Dad comes up for my birthday (3/3). The plan -

yogurt / rice cakes / miso / natural peanut butter in the AM (choice between those)

soup & yogurt smoothie for lunch

juice for dinner, with any of the breakfast items if needed

I've been really inspired by some of the juice fast journals, and I want to go back on a modified juice fast. I'm not really doing it for detox purposes, though detox is great. I need to be sure I'm not feeling deprived, and I want to make it through the week without going into "fasting" mentality, which is just a little too intense for me.

I want to keep an easy feeling, mentally and emotionally, and especially at home. If the fiance thinks I'm in "fasting" mode, it tends to drive us apart a bit in the evenings. But if I just juice and don't make a big deal about "not being able to eat" what he's cooking, he won't care.

The problem with me fasting is I feel SO deprived from food I tend to take out my lack of willpower on myself and others. Let's see how I can do with the modified fast plan.

I'm off to find some stuff to juice evenings this week, and some yogurt.
