I am working on writing copy for the presentations I want to make at the The National Heirloom Exposition September 9-10-11 2014 at the Sonoma Fairgrounds Santa Rosa, CA. I want this to tie in with an article for The Life Connection Magazine August issue.
I have been holding a vision for decades of a future called the Enchanted Garden Era where because enough Sacred Seeds--by that I mean you--are so aligned with the other Sacred Seeds of the Earth--by that i mean the diverse Heirloom Seeds that hold the pure food memory of diverse cultures-- that we can grow out a next generation of Youth that is more healthy than the last. For more than two years now, I have been carrying around Pizza Boxes and reading and teaching Enchanted Garden Teachings that I tape to Pizza Box cardboard slabs that are in the Pizza Box.
My interest in Growing a Healthier Pizza started germinated from a convergence of ideas back in 2011 and 2012.
Baker Creek…and BoB Quinn…came together, then I heard about the Pizza is a vegetable….
The Campaign to Grow A Healthier Pizza began when Government went into agreement with the Moneybags in 2011 to say that two ounces of tomato sauce defined Pizza as a vegetable. The historical roots of transgressions against Food go back near 100 years. "Outgrowing" GMOs is key to Food Reform; "The Right to Know" and Knowing How to Grow Food go hand in hand.
We can help further grow a Grassroots Movement that will shift the consciousness of our nation to one of America the Beautiful as we each get Engaged planting dreams. This workshop with Leslie Goldman is an "Engagement" Party. When will Uncle Sam marry "Anti" GMO? The Wedding date is in our hands!

Sean Kaminsky creator of the film Open Sesame - The Story of Seeds shared the opening ceremony from the 2012 National Heirloom Expo, organized by the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company and its Pure Food Seed Freedom Heroes and Heroines. Vandana Shiva was schedules to open the event in 2012 but was getting an international award that year and sent a video, leaving room for my opening presentation.

GARDENING AS A WAY TO OUTGROW GMOs
I want to communicate in the story something simple, an idea that the kind of grassroots movement we need to outgrow GMOs would benefit from a gardening tool in hand.
There's something very missing from my life and lives of so many people now.
What is missing is a simple connection, "grassroots movement" between our soul and nature. it's the absence of this that creates the kind of fragmented thinking that has bred and allowed room for GMOs to take up so much space in our lives.
This is where the idea comes that our dreams and our sacred seeds are stuck in pizza boxes. I say take your sacred seed out of the pizza box and Plant Your Dream.
My allies in the GMO labeling movement as well as those who are dedicated to creating a tipping point of consumer rejection of GMOs are doing important work and yet I want to represent a deeper awareness that may be missing.
What is missing is our essential nature soul connection, Dreams can be grounded literally through gardening. We can take the time to ground them with gardening tools literally.
I don't mean to get metaphoric or esoteric. Something basic is missing, our dedication to grounding the dreams we have for a better world in alignment with nature's original technology.
These dreams are grounded through our choice of activities. Some activities further build the Natural connection in our lives.

In big cities like Los Angeles, if you grow vegetables on "edible" food-producing wall panels and on roofs, or subscribe to weekly boxes of fresh produce from local farms, or even plant drought-tolerant frontyards, you're making a political statement. Keeping a compost pile eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers; organic gardens that invite useful insects avoid the use of harmful pesticides; and local produce can reduce carbon emissions associated with industrial food production and long-distance transportation.
Over the years, the founders have been invoked by almost every politician and every political movement across a wide spectrum. Now it's time for the gardeners and environmentalists, who are already following in the footsteps of the Founding Gardeners, to claim their stake in the ideals and the heroes that formed the nation.
