Sufism is a way of life and can help even the Christian.
Spend two weeks studying this religion and it will change your life.
Date: 4/30/2009 7:17:00 PM ( 15 y ) ... viewed 2439 times I have been studying Sufism the last couple of weeks and no I do not intend to become a Sufi but I am so impressed with their way of life. There are a couple things I do not agree with and this has held me back from joining them. One they pray to saints in the graves and that is against everything I know and I know we can only pray to God for help, so for this reason I can not become a Sufi but I have taken many of their practices into my life.
I am doing a lot more zikr now than before.
They do a regular zikr session with their chosen sheik and there are many sheiks. Plus they do the following
As an example say:
1000 Allah, Allah, aloud
500 Allah, allah silent
300 blessings on the prophet
100 of Sura Ikhlas
100 Bismillah ir Rahmem ir Raheem
100 Hasbiallahu wa nema al walkeel
100 La Yateef
I do more zikr than I was doing before and I have seen a great many good things come to me.
They have a wonderful diet of vegetarian and very simple with some lentil soup or some pumpkin soup. They are very poor as they give all their wealth away. They give charity two times a day. They believe in joy and love and never speak harsh. The never complain. There whole life is built on Allah and the Prophet and seeking Allah's blessings.
They do not eat meat as they are so afraid of judgement day and do not harm animals, flowers and insects. They are known by their wool jackets and spend 40 days in seclusion praising Allah.
They are extremely protective of their sheik and treat him like a person of extreme high rank. I have found that I was not able to look at the sheik in the eye as I became mesmerized. I felt I was being drawn in and I felt peace. I am been extremely happy since studying Sufism and I know their practices could be used by all.
To not speak bad to others, in fact they remain quiet all the time unless talking about Allah. They are extremely kind and good to all.
I think we all should study Sufism and then we would not be so worried about the Flu epidemic.
