Today is my down day :-( It really began yesterday about 3 hours before I went to bed for the night (around 5pm) and again I slept almost 12 hours!!! The majority of the day yesterday I felt as if I'd taken ephedrine, and as I've said, I haven't touched the stuff for over 3 years!!! But I crashed from this "high" around 2pm and spiraled downwards into a panic attack. I felt dizzy, with a STRANGE pressure in my head, and a little nauseous at times. I kept telling myself that the toxins have been stirred up, and I'm feeling "speedy" because all of those trapped toxins are circulating and looking for a way out. I've read in the forum that most people experience a strengthening/intensification of their pre-existing conditions and their symptoms, and the next morning those will disappear with their eliminations. I woke this morning feeling extremely clear-headed, a little achey, and rushed to do my SWF before those symptoms crept back up on me. As I am waiting for the SWF to begin it's journey "out" my headache is building back up on me. I hope I am passing a majority of the toxins today, and that I won't have too many more days like this ahead, atleast not a severe as yesterday.
Having a 2 1/2 year old to keep up with is very taxing while fasting. I use my time here on the computer as my resting period, and most of the other times I'm rolling around on the floor, being dragged outside to play in the dirt, to look for "bad bugs", to find "pretty rocks", or to go to on our nature walks around my mothers property. I find it refreshing and draining at the same time. She watches some educational programs for children (Noggin/Sprout) and I use those times to pick up the house, and cook for her and my husband. Doing anything passed that seems to drain me completely. I am sure in a few days I'll finally experience those "up days" that everyone raves about. In fact I'm counting on it!!! Right now that's the only thing that keeps me hanging on, that promise of renewed stamina, and mental clarity, along with the probable health benefits.
I try to communicate on the forum as often as I can, but being that we rise somewhere between 2:30am and 4:30am, and go to bed around 4-5pm, that doesn't leave much time to post/reply on the forum when everyone else is on. I post early in the morning, and early afternoon. My husband works the night shift and we keep these hours in order to see him when he comes home and before he goes to work, and also so my little one can play outside. We used to sleep the day away and be up all through the night when she was a baby, but since she's started playing outside everyday (for about a year now) we have been keeping these very odd hours. I can't wait till my husband gets put on days (he's worked nights since I was pregnant with her) so I can feel like I'm part of the world again!!!
Symptoms aside, I am still as determined as ever to reach my goal of 40 days. If anything, these strong detox symptoms have shown me that the cleanse is REALLY working and to give up now would be a mistake. Good Luck fellow fasters, and stay strong!!!

My first cleanse I lasted 5 days as well, so don't worry. You go longer next time!!! About ephedra... it's long name is pseudoephedrine and is found in Sudafed and other nasal decongestants, and in MANY diet pills as well. There was alot of media coverage of ephedrine last year because a major league baseball player died of ephedrine abuse (heart failure) and several others came forward saying they had complications from it. I am not saying this to scare you. Just take comfort in the fact that the MC will help us to get the remnant of that poison out of our bodies!!!

- i feel speedy too! by Life-n-Light

its a good kind though. not unmanagable. and i really dont like speedy things to take. something that calms me when i get that way is just start sipping some ice water. it dilutes the toxins and you can pee them out. :)
so as soon as you feel that panic. have a glass of water and one to sip at. hope the two glass water trick works for you too.

Thanks for that tip! Yesterday I was downing glass after glass, like I couldn't get enough. My body was telling me, "give me more", and now I know why!!
Thanks again

- detox heaven by Zoebess

oops! got mixed up and thought you were at the same day as me. Well, day 4, no wonder you are feeling scraggily as a wet cat!!!
It is such great progress to read how you and mom are stirring it up and your body is going to push that out. The first week is rough, thats no doubt and if you bring to the table a really toxic body, the releasing can bring on a dark night of the soul so-to-speak. The good news is that it does pass and by the end of the month you are going to really thank yourself for perservering! I can hardly wait to see your reflections then! Of course, it took lots of time to get in your condition so it will take this time to shake out all that residue!
I had an experience in my releasing yesterday which is aligned to what you are going through, except instead of drugs, it was CHICKEN!! I had had fried chicken probably 5 weeks or more ago. Yesterday the throne room smelled like I was standing in the middle of KFC!! Really makes you wonder how the body decides what to put in the body basement and why that oil or whatever is in that greasy coating was deemed funky enough not to be used! No more fried chicken for me...ggg
Bless you and your daughter, since believe me, as the mom of a 25 year old, the time goes by very quickly and the bonding and the joy your are cultivating in your relationship now is time you will never regret spending together and so much else can wait. Certainly a sense of humor and feeling better will help but hey you will be your own HERO too when you "come clean".
There will be more than a few days like this between now and 40 so relax as much as you can today. You would be amazed too what a bucket of hot water under your desk and your feet in it for 15 minutes would do for your detoxing. I hope you feel better soon!
Good luck to you and mama~~~!
Blessings,
Zoe

Thanks Zoe!!! I too had a strange experience on day 1 with a "smell" in the bathroom. It smelled like Long John Silvers, and I haven't eaten that crap for over a year!!! Its scary to think I carried that stuff around for that long, and I am so happy to see it go BYE BYE!!! Considering how toxic I am I knew it would take an extended fast to see the effects that I desire. I am keeping a close eye on what my body is telling me and if I feel I've gone too far I will break early (and safely) but I am so determined to make it to 40 days, that I don't see that happening.
Mom feels great today, by the way and is glad to see her headache is gone, for now anyway. We're looking forward to an "up" day that I know is just around the corner!
:-) :-) :-)
Thanks for your support!!!

I'm having all the same symptoms as you. I'm only on day two. A little nausea keeps creeping in. My goal is 30 days. I hope we both make it.

If we stay strong and resolved in our determination to make it through we will reach our goals!!! Those horrible detox symptoms are telling us that the cleanse is working and it feels good to me to know that all the crap I've put into my body is coming OUT!!! A tip that helped me the most is to drink as much water as you can stand along with the required lemonades. It really does keep things "moving" and helps to ease those heavy detox symptoms.
Good luck on day 3!!! I hope you feel better tomorrow!
