If you picked the fruit right off the plant or tree I would suggest not cleaning it.

If the fruit is store purchased then I suggest putting it in a sink full of water and using an ozonator for 20 minutes. You can also use a few drops of 35% grade peroxide or even a few drops of lugol's iodine. Not having any of these things, just what ever water you drink is used and scrub the fruit if you can or change the water a few times as you rinse.

I keep forgetting to have the website owner http://www.obeynature.com sale an ozonator for this purpose. They are a couple hundred dollars but have many uses.
