When gentian violet is applied to a leasion it dries it up. It will stain the bacteria, fungus, parasite and dry it up, it can't reproduce and dies.

SS brings up many good points cleaning immune boosting these things are very important. Gentian violet will help you get through this much faster, and it is very cheap and effective.
