Hi 2life,
I am not familiar with organic pastures kefir or raw colostrum. Can you make your own kefir out of goats milk? There is no one around you that has milking goats? You should drink 2 quarts of kefir a day. In regards to the colostrum, I had a pancreatic attack that burnt my total digestive system and I could not take it. Since your digestive tract is ulcerated, anything you eat may trigger loose stools and yes you will have "GREAT" fatigue and your system is very inflamed.
I took primal defense. This is very good for you. I was very distressed for a very long time when consuming it. Take it slow, but I would take it. I worked up to 12 caplets per day. And yes you will get and fill worse before you start to improve.
Since you are on the Maker's Diet, I will assume you have read the book and understand Dr. Rubin's way of thinking. This is from his book "Patient Heal Thyself." Ulcerative colitis is a nonspecific inflammatory disease of the colon......Restoration of the balance of friendly bacteria to the gastrointestinal tract is essential to recovery. The "complete" avoidance of disaccharide-containing foods such as grains, most beans, sugar, maple syrup, noncultured fluid dairy products (milk and ice cream), potatoes and corn is a must in order to heal the digestive tract and improve the microbial balance. pg, 199. (This is very important.)
Also, I would highly recommend you read his book "Restoring Your Digestive Health." There is a diet in there for you. Do you take a liquid bentionite clay for your loose stools? (Sonne's #7 Detoxificant)
My nephew was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when he was 19 years old also. He is now 29. In December of 2006 he had a colostomy. He never went anywhere without knowing where the bathrooms were. And bloody stools were the norm. He lived on prednisone. I have no use for doctors, but in my nephew's case, his did try to get him to understand that he needed to change his eating habits, which he would not do. His doctor did not want him to have to have his colon removed. After he had it removed, it was touch and go for many months. He seems to be doing ok now. (As well as you can be without a colon, which is considered to be the second brain.)
Dysbiosis, candida, and leaky gut are all part of this disease. An overall fungal growth throughout the body. I have done much research in the past on ulcerative colitis trying to help him. I know "he" could have totally healed himself, but he did not have the strength to stick to a healing diet. He learned through that 10 years that mainstream medicine had nothing for him.
I know that you can totally and completely heal yourself!!
May God Bless You...
