Along with scattering, of late I have noted the terms "resistance" and "reinfection" thrown around pretty freely in terms of herbal treatment. I'm concerned because in reading scientific literature very few documented cases of resistance occur in the way it is put forth on this forum. "Superbugs" dont typically just magically appear in a host but rather over generations and a span of time with repeated treament and reinfection. The treament either works or it doesnt. Its easy to assume that the patient "reinfected themselves" took the wrong dose or developed a "superbug" rather than questioning the efficacy of the treatment. I call this "blame the patient syndrome" which is almost as bad as branding a patient with delusional parasitosis. Medical drugs might be very powerful which is a sword that cuts both ways, sometimes causing as much harm as it does good. Statistically however, the side effects of these drugs are associated with the level of infection. In other words, during safety testing these drugs are administered to healthy patients at GREAT quantites higher than the recommended dosage with usually few to no side effects. Then again, these side effecs increase dramatically in proportion to the parasite load and can even be fatal. Also they compile SCIENTIFIC data such as blood serum levels and elimination half time of the drugs. They also study things such as which drugs will accumulate in what tissues and oral absorption etc as well as which drugs work for which bugs based on exhaustive research on individual parasites and the different stages of development. The point to all of this is, there is very little if any data compiled on herbal treatments to be able to state unequivacally that herbs wipe out all parasites head to toe and that if you are not cured then its only because you were magically reinfected or created your very own superbug. While I think herbal treament may have its benefits, should we be so quick to compare it with modern therapies without hard scientific data? We are all here to get better not create more problems than we started with. Thanks to kocc6ny2 for taking the time to attempt to present the information he has compiled in such a logical and unbiased manner. Hope you have been able to recover the bulk of material lost recently.
