Honestly, I do not know.
It's a frustrating situation, like damn if you do, damn if you don't.
In the lit, it is said all puppies are infected with heartworm upon birth. Most dogs live through the infective stage & develop stronger immune system upon adulthood. The worms don't bother them.
There must be something else we're missing in this picture.
Killing the worms is a misguided goal, because we're losing the battle. Battles are lost not because of the technicality of weapons or lack of strategy, but the policy that drives the battle is misguided & wrong.
Initially, I thought of relying on a vast array of herbs to stun, kill & expel the worms. This thought is flawed. The fact is we are extremely ill-prepared against any miscalculation, or if events go horribly wrong.
We have no contigencies at all. We don't know what to do if the worms survive & scatter, nobody does, including people who sold you the anti- parasite products. These people are CONFUSING scattering with resistance, which we already discussed here previously.
Resistance is caused by misuse of anti- parasite drugs/herbs. Scattering is caused by worms who survived the cleanse. Humaworm claims X amount of herbs can only kill X amount of worms. This is incorrect. What he fail to address is WHY the product couldn't be designed to kill all volumes of worms. The cause could be incorrect dose, maybe for safety/resistance reasons, lack of delivery mechanism to reach where the herbs don't, lack of herbs to kill all life-cycles of worms, lack of proper dose to kill the proper load of worms (we don't know how to measure the worm load) etc. The product is inadequate is more ways than one, so are many others.
No one would continue to use the same antibioctics to cure an infection if the 1st treatment did not finish destroying them. Would you use the same Antibiotics over & over again, every 90 days? It would not make any sense. Worse because they have no idea what to do in case of complications like scattering. Customers-remorse!
Currently, I see only 2 options.
- Continue to research more efficient ways to kill the worms, including better herbs & delivery mechanisms OR
- Build up immune system to make our bodies inhospitable to parasites/worms
Other thoughts :
We may not have to kill the worms directly. These worms also have their own parasites i.e. bacteria/viruses that resides in the worms guts. The worms share a symbiotic relationship with these basteria/viruses. If the bacteria/viruses dies, the worm might not survive.
We need the help of a parasitologist.
