Here's my story - maybe you can relate or maybe its helpful, but I am really struggling with something....

I am a 31 white female and I went to South Asia and India last Spring for four months. I got sick while traveling, but nothing horrendous. I had two strange sick days however - in Hanoi, Vietnam in April I came down with a massive fever for 36 hours and extreme fatigue but no other symptoms. About a month later in Mysore India after some goat curry, I was also laid up with a 24-hour food sickness. Otherwise I had general traveler's diarhea, but was ok.

When I came back in July I noticed I had blood in my stool and passed a huge clot of jelly-like clear and odorless mucus with strings of blood. I had some mild cramping and constapation, but it didn't really bother me. I finally went to the doc in August and gave stool samples and he said I had an ameobic cyst/parasite. He gave me a three day course of Tindamax Antibiotics , which I took. I felt better for about 6-8 weeks, but noticed the blood was coming back. It started coming regularly but I wasn't feeling too bad so I kind of ignored it. I tried making appointments at my student health clinic, but was getting the run around so I thought I would try a homeopathic/herbal remedy instead. On the Sunday after Thanksgiving I started Paracure (Renew Life) and continued that course for 2 weeks. I felt much better and passed approx. 3 BMs per day and they were very healthy looking. I stopped taking the Paracure and as the holidays season crept up, was probably not eating right (too much sugar, alcohol, etc...). After I stopped the Paracure I also had a very bad yeast infection which I used over-the-counter meds for and that worked.

In the last week I became very constipated, had more stomach cramps and became extremely tired and was losing concentration. I was passing very dark, bad-smelling stool. No blood, but lot's of cramping and also fatiugued (12-13 hours per night and feeling very tired upon waking). Today, I decided to try another herbal remedy, Parastroy (Nature's Secret) because I was hurting so bad. Well, within 3 hours of taking the first dose something very strange came out of me -- white firm lumps, some quite big the size of a walnut, with the consistency of lumps of dough. It was not stool material and I have no idea what it was - total about 1/2 cup of that came out. I feel better already - probably because that was causing the bad constipation. Any thoughts?

I feel fairly confident that I have pretty severe parasite infection and have now gotten the money to go to a real specialist instead of my student health clinic. Any thoughts on what the lumps are? Any words of support or advice? Thanks.
