Good for you! Sounds like you are on the right trail!
You obviously need to lose the sugar! That fungus!? Your body screaming for sugar! That's yeast talking to you.
The best strategy for fasting with yeast is the fresh juices of green vegetables. You might do a cup of fresh green apple (like granny smith) juice in the morning, but keep it to a minimum!
Consider doing a pre-fast cleansing diet for a week or so to help your body get into the cleansing mode gently, and lose some of those cravings.
For breakfast, have granny smith apples with natural yogurt (no sugar, good culture), or perhaps strawberries or blueberries. NO acid fruits (citrus, pineapple) as yeast thrives on these alkaline forming fruits!
Salad for lunch dressed with good oil like ex virg olive/flax, and fresh lemon juice
Make homemade vegetarian vegetable soup for dinner. Cut up potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, green beans etc. and cover with pure water. Simmer til almost tender. Add fresh garlic, a bit of Sea Salt , herbs to taste.
Eat this way for 3-5 days before beginning your fast. If you drink coffee, taper off during this time.
Teas with anti fungal properties include pau d'arco, chamomile, bergamot, hyssop, alfalfa, angelica root and lemon grass. Pau d'arco in particular has been shown effective in killing off candida.
After your cleansing diet, begin your juice fast. If you want fruit juice, drink it only in the morning, and stick to granny smith apples (I like to add fresh ginger to this one, another anti fungal!).
In the afternoon drink the fresh juices of vegetables like beets, carrots (limit due to high Sugar content), spinach, kale, cabbage and cucumber. Fresh garlic is a nice addition, another anti fungal.
Do a colon cleansing routine every day you fast. Drink a strong cup of herbal lax tea in the evening, and another in the morning. OR, lax tea pm, plain water enema am. OR lax tea pm, salt water flush am.
The salt water flush is an excellent flush of the entire digestive system, top to bottom. Here is the way I do it (as opposed to mixing the salt in the full quart and chugging that!)...
Dissolve 2 tsp. UNIODIZED Sea Salt in 1 cup drinkably hot water
Have 3 cups plain water standing by
Chug as much salt mixture as you can, chase with plain. Chug and chase til ALL water is consumed. In about an hour it will ALL exit in dramatic fashion, carrying all within its path! NOT for the commute! LOL
You can substitute a plain water enema at any time for any/all colon cleansing protocol.
Bag or bucket? I have both, and like the open ended bucket, as it is easier to clean and if you are doing additions, easier to work with.
Don't worry too much about fancy enemas unless you just want to. A tablespoon of lemon juice a few times a week makes a nice cleanser, or any of the anti fungal teas.
Set a doable goal. If you are not sure how things will go, do the cleansing diet five days and fast for five days. If you are doing well, go another five.
I have done long haul fasts (60 days last summer) mainly for colon cleansing. This summer I did a series of ten day fasts, eating a cleansing diet for ten days between each one. This was MUCH easier on the body, and infinitely easier to break than one long fast! After your first ten days you will have a good idea whether you wish to continue, or just go to eating a diet that will support candida cleansing.
Candida diet must eliminate sugars and artificial sweeteners. You can use a bit of stevia herb or lo han as a sweetener (health food store). Limit grains, sticking to non-gluten grains like corn, millet, teff and quinoa, whole grain only. No more than 1/2-1 cup servings, four daily.
Eat fruits sparingly, sticking to green appless, strawberries, blueberries...
Avoid canned/frozen juices--stick to fresh veggie juices.
Avoid yeast containing foods like breads, crackers, beer, wine, vinegar etc. Avoid mushrooms and cheeses, peanuts and peanut butter. Use almond butter or other nut butters.
Avoid commercial dairy excepting butter and plain (NOT no or low fat) yogurt, 1/2 cup per day.
So what can you eat!!?
Low starch vegetables (lots of greens)
Legumes (soaked, cooked at low temps--crock pot is great)
Good quality (preferably organic) lean meats
Nuts and seeds--soak overnight in pure water to make more easily digestible
Green vegetable juices
Granny Smith apples
Stevia as a sweetener
Gluten/yeast free breads
Raw almond butter
Pasta (quinoa or rice)
Plain yogurt or keifer in moderation
Hot air popcorn in moderation
Eggs
This diet is recommended for three months to get candida under control. Then you can start adding foods back slowly, starting with fruits, grains and dairy. If gas or bloating occurs, fall back to the diet.
I am assuming you have done a parasite cleanse at some point. If not, look into the parasite cleanse forum and consider doing one!
When you are done with your fast, also consider doing a liver flush. This is an incredible, simple, cheap, VERY effective cleanse, an excellent follow up to a fast.
Hope you're doing great! Let me know if I can help you in any way.
Best,
Somer
