Did you start walking? And if so...what happened? I was just skimming and reading
and saw this post from about one month ago. If you've been walking the 5 miles a
day, you should have lost several pounds by now.
Another inspirational story.....The other day, I was shopping with our grown daughter, and while she was paying for her purchase, the sales clerk, whom we knew,
asked if I had lost weight. I told her only the 10 pounds that I had put on
recently...and that I had given up on diets and just walked it off. There was an
elderly lady standing there waiting to pay...and she said, "That's the only way...
just walk it off". She said, "I've been 240 pounds most of my adult life" (she
was about 4'11" and in her mid 70's) and she said "I just couldn't let myself 'die'
without losing the weight I've been battling all my life. So I decided to forget
diet and just 'walk it off'". She said, "I started walking 4 1/2 miles in the
morning and 4 1/2 miles in the afternoon, and from this past April until now, I've
walked off 100 pounds." (It was early September) She said, "I didn't watch what
I ate, I ate like I normally do, but I just walked...and she said, "I'm going to
KEEP walking until I walk off 40 more pounds". She said, "Once I got in the habit
of walking, it was as easy as falling off a log."
Now you have to understand, people in their 70's don't eat like people in their
40's and 50's. I wish I had asked her what a typical day of meals was like. But
I didn't. But she did confirm my thoughts after reading the post on Walk Away The
Pounds...you can drive yourself crazy, hopping from one diet to the other...or you
can forget diet...eat sensibly...and just walk it off. It REALLY works!!!
